Very nice unit much better than a simple code reader.
I used this unit to read a code but wanted a unit that had the "Live Data" feature that provides real-time information which is useful to diagnose problems before a code is thrown. While using the unit I noticed it had a Drive Cycle Monitor which turned out to be critical. The car was throwing a transmission code but only at higher speeds but I needed to pass smog test (test is at low speed 15 and 25mph). So I cleared code -- since an engine warning light (MIL) is an automatic smog test fail, then I used the Drive Cycle Monitor to determine when the car had a full drive cycle logged so I could get it to pass smog. If you clear a code or disconnect the battery on a car, it will automatically fail smog until the car has enough driving data from the monitors. This data is called a "Drive Cycle". You can use this unit on Drive Cycle Monitor and once all the monitors are cleared, it's shown on the display. These above features are not on the Craftsman model (Sears Item# 00987702000 | Model# 87702) that is around $100-$120, I think it's a re-branded Equus Innova 3100, they also have some higher end re-branded Innova models that are better than the Actron if you need some higher end features...
I would recommend this product to a friend.
