What is a Mini Split Air Conditioner?

A mini split or ductless air conditioner consists of an indoor air-handling unit and an outdoor compressor. The air conditioner's blower is mounted on an interior wall or ceiling, while the compressor and condenser stay outside. A mini-split AC can have as many as four indoor air handling units linked to one outdoor unit.

A ductless AC is a compact device that is easy to install and can cool individual rooms. The absence of ducts ensures no energy losses that are a common consequence of central cooling systems. Most mini-split models can function as both, cooling and heating devices, thus eliminating the need for a separate heater.

Benefits of a Mini-Split AC
