What is a VRLA Battery?

A valve-regulated lead acid battery  (VRLA battery) is a car battery that uses safety valves to hold pressure from gases that build up in its battery box. A VRLA battery reduces fluids created by gases inside from leaking out of its box. Both gel cell batteries and absorbed glass mat batteries are the two most regularly available VRLA batteries.

Benefits of a VRLA battery

  • Prevents excessive leaking of fluids to maintain a longer life
  • Doesn't require water levels to be topped up or excessive maintenance
  • Has a longer lifespan than most other car batteries
