A class 4 hitch is a heavy duty trailer hitch used to haul large equipment. The receiver opening on a class 4 hitch is about 2inches and can only be attached to a vehicle's frame. This type of hitch can help haul similar accessories as those you'd use with a class 3 hitch, but it is also able to tow heavier items including a mid-size camper or boat.
