What is a Continuous Wire?

A continuous wire system is a configuration inside an innerspring mattress that is made up of single wires, which twist and turn throughout the inside of the mattress. This design uses rows of thin wires that either run side-to-side or head-to-toe. A continuous wire system, also known as a continuous coil system, also helps reduce motion transfer so couples don't feel each other's movement while they sleep. This layout is typically more durable and creates additional support in the center third section of a mattress, which is near a sleeper's back.

Benefits of a Continuous Wire System

  • A continous wire system cuts down on motion transfer, keeping couples from feeling their partner's movement.
  • This construction provides more support near a sleeper's back.
  • The design creates more durability thanks to single wire rows that run head-to-toe or side-to-side.
