How to Apply a Screen Protector
Applying a screen protector to your tablet, smartphone or other device can sometimes take a little more effort than you'd expect. You might stick in on perfectly, but then spot some dust underneath a corner that you missed during the wipe down. Before you get frustrated and use up the rest of the protectors in your pack, take a breather and follow these simple steps to get a perfectly placed screen protector.
What you'll need
Step 1: Wipe down your screen.
Take your microfiber cloth, and wipe down your device's screen from one end to the other in small, circular strokes. Make sure you have plenty of light so that you can be sure to catch all of the dust particles prior to placing your screen protector.
Step 2: Line up and place your protector.
Once your screen has been cleaned, you're ready to apply your protector. Before removing the plastic backing, line up your protector so that you know you have the right fit. This is especially important if you're using a screen protector that needs to be cut to fit your device. When you're ready, peel off the back and place it over the screen as smoothly as possible.
Step 3: Smooth out the air bubbles.
Using the edge of a credit card, rub all the air bubbles away from the center. This might take a little elbow grease, but you should be able to get out all of the bubbles by working them toward the edges of the screen protector.
Step 4: Remove any dust particles.
Should you catch any dust particles still underneath your screen protector, don't panic. Place one small piece of tape on the screen protector with a bit hanging off so you can hold it. Then wrap another piece of tape, sticky side out, around your finger. Now, use the piece that is hanging off of the device to peel back the screen protector carefully. With the piece wrapped around your finger, you can dab at the dust until it's gone. Then, simply lay the screen protector back down. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed.
