The are so many good things about this tablet that everyone already touches on. I will identify things that I wish it included.
Hardware
Lack of expandable memory, HDMI input, USB drive, and rear camera makes this tablet unable to reach that "perfect" score. Of course, with it's current price point, it makes sense that Google wanted to keep material costs lower by excluding certain features. I only find the rear camera a missed feature that I wished it had for video recording and picture taking.
Software
Jellybean 4.1.1 is awesome. The OS runs smooth for most applicable situations. Of course, the lack of tablet-specific apps is a downer. Not to say there isn't a fair share of apps to download. It just doesn't hold a light to the Apple Marketplace.
Apps like Hulu Plus and Netflix work and look great on the Nexus 7 too. I also like the option to upload your entire music library to Google Music and stream it to your device effortlessly. Since you will need a WiFi connection in order to stream your music, you will find that you are still forced to transfer your favorite music artists to the internal HDD in order to listen to music when you're not in wireless range. Otherwise, Google Music is a great way to access your music and still retain your internal memory for other uses (movies, ebooks, magazines, games, etc.).
Games
The Nexus 7 uses the amazing Quad Core Interga 3 processor. It packs quite a punch and can run most of the games off of Google Play's lineup.
Battery
I am very happy with the Nexus 7's battery life. Although you will not get the quoted "9 hours" of continous usage, you can get a solid 8 hours of app running with WiFi always on and continuous data collecting.
Verdict
There are many things that the Nexus misses out on. If you are looking for an iPad replacement, this is not your device. Nothing really compares to the iPad 3 right now. However, the Nexus 7 is one of the few tablets that will turns some heads. Until the new version of the Kindle Fire is released, expect that this 7 inch tablet will more than meet your needs.

I had this product for nearly 2 months. Although I liked most part of it but there are areas of improvements. 1. In last 2 months it has stopped working at least 4-5 times (will not start/ power on). 2. I personally did not like the place where power buttion is built, little inconvenient. 3. May be next version of product is better without any flaws.

KEYS ARE TOO CLOSE FOR MY HUSBAND'S FINGERS. GOINGTOCHECK INTO AN IPAD 10"; UNDERSTAND IT IS MORE COMPATIBLE.

Gorilla glass? Really? Dropped on driveway from distance of approx 12 inches (out of pocket when exiting vehicle): glass is cracked with a gouge, touchscreen will not function. Had it all of three days. Expensive lesson, will not be purchasing another. Reading other reviews online, many have issue with glass not sitting properly in frame, I can only guess this is why the product failed with a minor bump.

I sold my iPad for this tablet and am very happy with the decision. I can tether it with my android phone and get internet service anywhere, the software and hardware on it is very slick, there is no lag, and its just small enough to somehow fit in my pockets. A lot more useful than the iPad 2nd Generation I had.
Processor is awesome! No lags! The first tablet which has quad-core processor and Android 4.1 OS... It perfectly fits my hand... it's very comfortable to use! It's also light! Screen is so great that it makes viewing books, magazines & videos very beautiful, as well as playing games. Handles multitasking efficiently... Good sounds, but can be better when you download an equalizer from Google Play or even use a headphone... I was able to get the free $25 Google Play credit... I love this tablet!

I just got this tablet. And yes, I'm exaggerating when I say it's the only thing you'll look at all day. You'll look at your girlfriend a few times and tell her to leave you alone while you're playing with your tablet. This thing is sweet. Such fluid motion between screens. Google out does itself with the $25 in "play" money. (Gotta love a good pun) But seriously, If you don't want to deal with all that Apple garbage, Overpaying for Samsung technology with an apple on it. Then do yourself a favor. Buy this tablet, and start enjoying being mobile. If you are worried about the small screen, then wait for Christmas. I couldn't, and quite frankly, I don't mind being impatient. Happy Googling.

I have used ipad and the kindle fire before. This one for the price, is the best tablet out there in the market. Amazingly intuitive to use and the performance is excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a 7 inch tablet for content consumption.

The Nexus 7 was sold out in most places I had checked. Sears was awesome! I have owned it for two weeks now. It feels like a quality tablet. I like the 7 inch form factor. It can fit in a pants or coat pocket. It is fast and responsive. The battery life is pretty good for a tablet. Plenty of Apps and programs from Google Play Store. I found out the tablet can be rooted and use an external memory card if 8 or 16 Gigs are not enough for you. There are some good youtube videos by RevKyle, Ray Waldo, and others that are helpful. I have not had any issues with my tablet from the time I unboxed it. It was easy to set up and connect to the internet through my home network. I have taken it on my business trips and it easily connected to networks in hotels and eating establishments offering free Wi-Fi. I am looking at adding the OTG cable and USB port to add a small keyboard, mouse and memory stick. Nexus 7 does it right. I would highly recommend this tablet to anyone looking for an affordable tablet.

No regrets purchasing this $199 tablet. The 7" form factor, which feels perfect with one hand, along with its performance sold me. The android Jelly Bean experience was smooth "like buttah" (SNL ref). Solid built. I'm using it for mainly internet browsing and video which it does effortlessly.
