Cast iron
Pre-seasoned is NOT 'non-stick'. You need to learn HOW to cook in cast iron, and what NOT to do to clean them! I learned how to cook in cast iron fry pans over 60 years ago on a kitchen wood stove... For meats, the pan should be pre-heated to Very Hot, with NO oil in the pan. When you lay in meat, leave it alone! If you try to move it, it WILL stick. Let it fry for a couple minutes, and then you can easily move it without sticking. Eggs are a bit tougher to do, but the trick is to use a light coating of oil in the pan, and use a low heat. Heat the pan first, then add about a tablespoon of oil. Then add the eggs. Leave them alone, and they seldom stick. Or fry bacon in the pan first, fry sliced potatoes and then fry eggs in the bacon grease. Frying in cast iron requires a hot pan first... Or everything sticks. Cleaning? This is where most people give up and go back to Teflon? Never (NEVER) use dish soap or put cast iron in a dish washer! The oils from using them 'seasons' the rough surface over time. WIPE OUT with a paper towel to clean, after pouring off any excess grease, while the pan is still warm. If there are 'sticky bits' in it, use a scrubbing pad (without any soap) to remove the bits, under hot water. Wipe dry, then wipe pan with a bit of vegetable oil on a paper towel. Since you bring the pan up to a high temp each time before using it, there is no danger of bacteria surviving in the oily surface. I bought this set at a local K-Mart store, and love them!

Seasoning less than required
These pans are supposed to be pre-seasoned but the amount of seasoning required prior to use is quite high. I chose to return the product instead of undertaking the seasoning.

Can't wait to use!

My mother had told me the best skillet to make peanut brittle in were the old cast iron ones. Didn't have time to shop all the second hand stores, so I did an online one and found these available through the website. I received them within about two weeks of ordering. It wasn't in time to make brittle for the holidays, but I can't wait to use them this month.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Gift of Convinence

This was bought as a Christmas present for my mom who hinted that she wanted another cast iron skillet. This will be great for her and provides more variety with the addition of the other two smaller skillets.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not the greatest but pre-seasoned and......

Definitely worth the price. they work very well and cook steak or any meat real quick. You actually got to keep an eye on what you're cooking. You can use lids from your other pots to put over them to keep your stove from getting oil splattered.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
