it was exactly what I required : no worry regarding storage of flammable gas, ethanol eating washers or pull starts. It runs well and is light and stores well. I never wanted an electric mower because you have to worry about running over the electric cord. Worth the trouble being as to how I am so sick of gas mowers being so dam tempermental, and hard to start. My hard shelled green black and decker electric mower AKA the turtle is great never buy another gas mower again

I purchased this lawn mower and mowed my lawn right after I got home. It only bogged down slightly but that was at the beginning when I noticed it was set too low. After that, the only real problem was managing the extension cord. Even that wasn't as difficult as I thought considering I've always used gas lawn mowers... My yard is pretty flat so if your yard isn't, this may not work for you as well. I have to say that I wish I would have bought this a year ago after I moved into my house. No gas to buy, no engine to mess with and doesn't make nearly the amount of noise of a gas lawn mower. Like I read in some of the other reviews... I will never go back to a gas lawn mower.

After reading and being swayed to a corded electric, I got this cheaper one to try out. 5yrs later!!! Its still working perfectly!! amazing. The cord was a trick to learn and I have a hill, and large yard. This thing is so light in weight it is also a extra-point surprise. I can lift it over my head easily! I also havea electric edger/trimmer so the same ac cord is used and wind it up on a water hose carrier when done. 5 yrs!! not one tank of gasoline, no parts, no repairs!! thats a 5 STAR

It cut it mulched just like it was supposed.. Fixed position handle, went together easily. Not flexible, Grass exit hood knocks off easily. Bought for price and capability for rental house. Fits the need.

As a 64-year-old single woman responsible for the lawn at my new house, I am delighted. My yard is flat and quite open, with only two small trees in the front yard. I'd used both electric and gas mowers in the past and, frankly, the hassle of an extension cord wasn't nearly as great to me as the hassle of pulling the dang starter and dealing with gas and oil. After dragging the box into the house from the front porch, I assembled the mower on my own in the living room. No problems, but some confusion with the placement of the "shrouds" where the handle joins the body of the mower. Mowing is no problem and I routinely go over accumulated leaves, small twigs and straw (left from seeding of new grass). I do scout the yard and pick up any large sticks and the black walnuts. The mower is easy to push, and always keeping the cord behind me and on previously-mowed areas makes the job easy. Comfortable handle with little vibration. Louder than I expected, but OK.

The lawnmore was delivered 7/27/12 and assembled the same day.  A grass level test was run and the settings determined.  It was first used 8/4/12 and it ran for 10 minutes.  My backyard is 1/4 cut and my only option is to return the defective mower to Sears.  Based on B&D reputation, we will try this one more time using the 10 day return policy and cross our fingers.  I miss the old fashioned quality control!

Easy to put together and easy to use. And the price was right. You must buy your own electrical cord though. It is great for mulching, but be careful because without a bag the mulching blows everywhere and bystanders could get hit with rocks or whatever else is in the grass, I did.

I was tired of gas mowers being messy and going to buy gas just to cut my lawn. I decided on this model after some research. It works great on 1/4 acre with a long cord. It's lightweight which I love and small enough to fit in our storage closet. It starts and shuts off instantly. The mulching mode works very well. I am very happy with this mower. My only complaint is that it's made in Mexico, unlike most Crafstmen mowers, but that's better than China.
