    Bosch SHE68PO Dishwasher May 25, 2010

    We have an open floor plan and real wood floors. This space echoes all noises. We shopped real hard for a QUIET dw. This Bosch is like a ghost. We have been using this dw for 8months and are very happy. Our last one was a Maytag that the salesman "Said" was quiet. If its quiet they will post the decibel ratings and If it is not quiet they won't. Don't believe any salesman. Quiet is relative...decibel ratings are factual. If you want a quiet good cleaning energy efficient dw this is it. Their are some differences in how this one operates from a 15 year old washer. To be real quiet out goes the garbage disposal. You have a filter to catch waste. So be prepared to scrape plates into trash can. The better you do this the less you have to clean filter. To be energy efficient out goes the drying heater. This unit has a stainless steel HD tub that really does hold the heat in from the wash/rinse cycles. We just partially open the door after the cycle is through and everything dries well (if you stack coffee cups correct the water will shed off)  Without the heating element we can now wash plastics in the dw...yahhh!!  This unit cleans very well if you follow the instructions. We use the short cycle all the time. We don 't clean pots and pans as their manufacturer doesn't recommend dw cleaning. With just two people at home this one gets run 1-2 times per week. The racks are reasonably well set up...no major complaints.

    the bosh dishwasher is too small for me.... October 22, 2009

    i bought this dishwasher about ayear ago because my old kennmore wasn't cleaning my dishes! this is avery good dishwasher when it comes to cleaning but as a space its horrible it is not good for abig family few plates and its full especially the silverwear basket its way too small for the money we paid we should get bigger space.but it is defenitly has no sound what so ever its very quiet!

    If you want quiet, this is the dishwasher for you!  After I turn it on, I have to double-check it is running...it is sooo quiet!  As far as the dishes not getting dry....this is not true.  You have to adjust the setting manually for heated drying (just read through the manual).  There is plenty of room for all kinds of dishes, the top rack is adjustable up and down for height and there are three silverware baskets (two larger ones on the bottom rack and one smaller one on the top).  We have two dishwashers in our home (both of them Bosch) and this is by far the best one!  You will not be disappointed.  Just make sure you peruse the manual for the heat settings, etc.!  My dishes are sparkling clean every time!

    We could have bought more and paid less.  The dishwasher is quite and gets the dishes clean. The energy star rating was achieved by eliminating the heating element so the dishes never come out dry.  The worse issuee is the stainless steel door finish which has a three inch discoloration across the top of the door because of a defect in the manufacturing process.  Bosch acknowledged the defect exist sent three different doors but all were defective. Then refused to take further action and stated this is an uncorrectable cosmetic issue with all stainless steel Bosh no handle doors.  Would you pay top dollar for a new Lexus if the door finish was defective??? This may have happened to us as Bosh will not stand behind its manufacturer warranty.
