    Bosch SHX45PO = Excellent Choice November 07, 2010

We replaced our 12 year old M**tag with this Bosch.  We were a little hesitant at first, as this dishwasher does not have a heated dry and the interior is smaller than we were use to loading.  We have had this dishwasher for two months and we can attest that it is everything and more than we expected.  First of all it is so quiet, you have look for the little red light emitted to notify you that it is on.  Second, the dishes come out perfect every time.  We read another review on here and took their advice regarding the Finish brand square tablets.  The tablets work really good (the dishwasher comes with two tabs for you to sample)  We usually just use the auto wash feature and everything has come out perfect every time.  It takes a little getting use to loading, as it is smaller.  After a couple of weeks, you will have a system that works for you.  We are a family of four, so it runs almost every day.  Also, you can put plastics on bottom rack as there is no heating element.  Quiet, efficient, very clean dishes, not to mention it's an easy install and very nice looking applicance!

Over priced piece of junk!!!! November 21, 2009

I bought this expensive piece of **** 6 weeks ago to replace a leaking Kenmore dishwasher. It was a huge costly  mistake. This dishwasher does a lousy job of cleaning and drying dishes. It is next to impossible to figure how to load dishes into the cumbersome interior design of the machine. Also, the machine emits a nasty interior "industrial" odor that makes you want to pass out every time you open the door. The only positives to this over priced appliance is the extreme quiet operation and sleek Euro design. I am heaving this dishwasher to the curb and going replacing it with a Kenmore Elite. Avoid the mistake I made. Don't purchase the Bosch!!!!

This Bosch dishwasher is working fantastically. June 05, 2010

We originally bought a Samsung but it cleaned the dishes so horribly that we returned it and got the Bosch. My dishes now are coming out sparkling and squeaky clean. It's a snap to load, my dishes (Corelle) and glasses fit well. It holds a lot of plates, bowls, and glasses/cups/mugs but overall it doesn't hold quite as much as my old dishwasher (a GE, not the Samsung) due to the European design which has smaller interior space. I'm washing a few more of my odd-sized plastic leftover containers and oversized utensils (spatulas, mixing spoons, etc.) by hand but I don't find that a big deal.

I love the sleek front design with the controls on top. And best of all, it is sooooo quiet. You can hardly hear it at all even when we're very close to it. The sealed bottom feature gives me peace of mind since I have a brand new hardwood floor. I usually run it at night and don't open it until morning so the condensation drying isn't a problem for me.  You have to remember to push the upper rack back tight against the back of the machine by hand to engage the upper spray arm, I used to just push it shut with the door on my old machine. The filter is easy to remove and clean. I'm forcing myself to get used to the divided silverware baskets and haven't removed the tops (yet). My rinse agent reservoir doesn't want to fill up so I'm having to add it every wash, I haven't figured out why yet but I don't consider that a big problem. I love how little soap it uses, 1 tablespoon per load. So far I've just used the auto-wash cycle. It runs for a shorter time than the Samsung. I found the cycle completion signal annoying so I disabled it. Overall, I'm very happy with the way this machine cleans.

A great dishwasher with a great name to back it up! January 24, 2010
    via sears_dot_com
    By Mitch581 of Hornell, NY

We bought this to replace a 3 year old M--t-g piece of junk! This was purchased just prior to M--t-g being bought out by Wh---p--l.

The only thing our Bosch doesn't do is put the dishes away when it's done. It took us the full two hours with our M--t-g to get the dishes to the point of being able to put them away. We've washed 3 loads with our new Bosch at 30 minutes each and the dishes are sparkly clean! Hmmm, 90 minutes compared to 3 hours, the math works for us!

The water useage is also great, much less even on a full 2 hour run! And quiet, wow you have to be near it to even tell if it's running! Bosch placed a light on the bottom of the dishwasher that emits a red glow onto the floor to let you know that it's running.

The last bit of praise goes to our local Sears store. The salesman was a great help and actually encouraged us to move up from the Ascenta to the Integra which has a full stainless steel interior, we're glad we did! Also Sears always offers 12 months, no finance, no payments, a great way to go on a great piece of German engineering for our limited budget!

We have no complaints, we did our homework before buying because we didn't want to get stung again. Trust me you will be pleased with Bosch, I know we are!
