Sears is a great place
In defense of Sears Auto Center to some of you with bad reviews; first of all sears is not a lube pros so if you want 5 min service especially with batteries or brakes take it somewhere else cause its just not gonna happen. As being a previous sears auto center employee I can honestly say people act like doing a brake job or other work other than an oil change is an in and out service and it is not. Most people do not understand that mechanics are not magicians. Things go wrong on cars and one thing i learned from the business is people are so narrow minded and impatient, when the mechanics see something wrong other than what the vehicle comes in for and does a courtesy check, alot of customers automatically think we are trying to get more money and it isnt the case at all. and when things go wrong with car and it needs more repairs its automatically the mechanics fault...well here is a news flash things get rusty, some people do not properly maintain their vehicles and some cars are poorly built or has crappy parts on it. As far as the pricing goes sears has and uses premium parts and products, it is not some run down shop so if you want cheap go to a junk yard, get the parts yourself and put them on yourself. As far as alignments go, all cars are built different, alot of older cars with rusty parts are very difficult to do so it might take longer but parts get rusty and old and need to be replaced the policy in a Sears Auto Center is an alignment cannot be performed if there are parts loose in the front end because the alignment will not be effective and will not hold. So that is why if you get a call saying you need front end work and you still want an alignment without replacing the parts have fun wasting your money cause the warranty will not be valid or the alignment cannot be done and if its a trust issue simply ask your CSA to bring you back in the shop and the mechanic can show you what parts are loose and even shake down the front end for you. I do understand there are Sears Auto Centers out there that have people that might not be honest and knowledgable but you cannot base all of the sears auto centers on 1 experience from another. and try to remember no one is perfect and crap happens, cars need updating just like houses, they fall apart and get old. So next time you go to a sears auto center dont take out your frustrations on the employees they are just trying to do their jobs..they dont control how many people are working, how long it might take to fix a car, what might go wrong with a car, if your having a crappy day and have no one else to take it out on, and they especially dont make the policies and procedures. So if you go to a Sears Auto Center that does have good customer service and auto technicians show a little repect next time you want to assume things and jump to conclusions. Not all Sears Auto Centers are the same.

Unbelievable

Went to sears today to have my brakes done. Arrived without an appointment granted. Was told that it would be about an hour and a half for the evaluation to be done. 2:15 still not done , finally 2:30, I need front brakes and rotors cut. Fine. The tires are off my vehicle, we are waiting for the bake shoes. Mean while the mechanic leaves off on his motorcycle SOMEWHERES. After of hour of nothing someone else tells me I need new rotors, where is my mechanic to let me know this? Oh yeah we called him he is on his way back. So now we have to order rotors that my mechanic did not inform me of BEFORE his disappearing act. ALL OF THE MANAGERS ARE ON VACATION!!!!! So nobody is in charge. Find another manager from another department who comes to find out WHAT is going on. FINALLY ROTORS! BRAKES! DONE!!. Given a gift card for $50 off. After over 5 hours. This was the most unprofessional shop I have EVER been to, NOBODY IN CHARGE! NOBODY CAN TELL THE TECHS WHAT TO DO!!!

Brake eval

The evaluation was thorough and did not tie up my day waiting for. I did decide that the car was too old to put the recommended work into it however and appreciated the honesty of the mechanic.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Beware

I had Sears do a brake evaluation on my '07 Yaris sedan. Estimate came back that I needed new front rotors and pads and rear shoes and drums turned plus a front end alignment all for $423. I had Midas and Toyota do the same estimate and all I need are rear shoes. Rotors and pads are fine, no alignment needed so word to the wise; get other estimates.

Honest and prfessional

I dropped my 2007 Kia Sorento off to have brake pads replaced, get 4 tires. The tech noticed I was overdue for an oil change, I appreciated that. The tech also reported that I did not need brakes yet as the noise was from glazed over pads. I appreciated the honesty for sure.I was completely satisfied with the work and the Sears teams honesty as well as their professional approach to doing business. I will remain a dedicated customer. I used the Rock Hill,SC Galleria mall location, Thanks to Susan and her team!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Bad experience with my recent break pads change

Recently, I got sears coupon for break pad change, I went there with the coupon and they did all the rotor resurface and break pad change.

From that point onwards, I am getting the noise(squezzing and knocking) while putting the breaks at signals or any parking place. That noise is very much trouble some and I am felling some thing wrong with my car.

After that I took my car to toyota show-room and explained about the noise problem. They did some investigation and give the quote for the replacement of the break -pads because that noise was from the existing break pads which was replaced at sears. Till that time, I didn't realise that noise is from the break pads.

I hope, sears team will rectify my problem soon.

I would recommend a brake evaluation--better safe than sorry!

I would definitely recommend getting a brake evaluation, particularly if you start to notice that your brakes feel a little different than usual. I came in because I thought I needed new brake pads (which I did), but the friendly staff at Sears also pointed out that my brake hoses needed to be replaced, too. The staff were so great, and the man working on my car even brought out one of my old brake hoses to show me the wear on it and explain how brakes work.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
