5,500 Watt Generator, Briggs & Stratton, model 30468
Reviewing item in June 2012. Purchased this generator on-line at Sears.com in January of 2012 and had it delivered to my local store in NJ. Box is rather heavy and pretty large. Needed a pick-up truck to bring it home and at least two strong people to lift it into my garage. Generator was packed nicely inside the box and assembly was very easy. Comes with pre-measured oil?just needed to add fresh gasoline. Tank holds roughly 5 gallons of gas. So far I have not needed it (thank god) but I do make it a habit to start it and run it every few weeks. It comes with a fold-away handle that tucks away when not in use. It is a heavy unit, especially after adding the 5 gallon of gas. It comes with an one/off switch, a gasoline shut-out valve and a choke. Really easy to use. It starts each time on the first pull. I love it. I would recommend.

Excellent generator for the money
Purchased this in the Boston area after the now infamous October snow storm cut off power to our entire town. Already had a generator interface wired into our electric panel -- hooked up the 120/240 4-prong cable. Added gas and oil, fired it up and it ran most of my house for three days straight -- stopping it twice a day to refuel and change the oil. It ran flawlessly -- and powered my fridge/freezer, heat, microwave, 50" plasma tv / fios, half of our lights and half of our outlets. It didn't even seem to be working hard. Other than the noise, it was almost like we hadn't even lost electricity. It only used about 8 gallons of gas over a 24-hour period. Great product, excellent documentation. Thanks Sears!
