Our family was very excited to purchase our first Coleman tent. Myself and my husband attempted to assemble this ourselves. I'd like to begin with saying that its more like a four person assembly. The brand new box that it came with was close to 40 pounds and included a carring case with wheels. HEAVY HEAVY. We decided to do a test run/set up in our basement and it turned out to be a disaster. The instructions were so vague, and gave absolutely no details as to which polls to begin with. We also noticed that most of the weight came from these extreamily heavy metal support beams. The plastic hub which holds the metal beams broke... shattered as we were completing the final assembly. We are lucky that it did NOT hit us in the face or take out an eye. I would NOT ever reccomend this system of metal support beams in plastic holders EVER. Returning it tomorrow!!!

I got this tent for camping cause I wanted something bigger than what I had but I just should have stuck with my smaller one. First the tent polls were marked wrong. And then it never stayed tight so it got really cold and on my last night when it rained the inside of the tent was getting wet too.

Coleman tents are more reliable than any others. I have less worries when camping with a coleman tent. Camping for 40 years has given me the chance to use many products. Coleman products last longer than others and in the end are a great cost savings.

This tent is ok, but I was a little disappointed in the seam construction. There is no way I would take this tent on a camping trip w/ even the slightest chance of rain w/out sealing the seams. When I put the tent up the first time and examined the seams, the needle holes were very visible. Not a good sign. I sealed the seams and left the tent up in my backyard long enough to get a decent rain to test it out. Even after sealing, there were several trouble spots. Mostly in corners where vertical seams met horizontal seams at the floor. I also had a little water coming in the floor vents at each end of the tent (nice feature, by the way). I spent a little extra time on those trouble spots w/ the sealer, and waited for the next rain. Although it's not completely water tight, it is acceptable enough for me at this point. The other con to this tent is the stated size. I cannot figure out how they came up w/ 228 sq ft. Even the 19 by 12 overall size is somewhat misleading. It IS a roomy tent, but not THAT roomy. We are a family of 6: two adults, two teens, and two children. It was tight with all our stuff, but doable, and I'm looking forward to camping again. I have put this tent up by myself 3 times now. It's not easy for me (5'5" female), but I manage. If not for the leaking issues, I would give it 4 stars.

This is the best tent I have ever owned! I would recomend this to anyone who enjoys camping!

We bought this tent to go on a week long camp trip with family and I purchase this tent online. I set it up in the yard so I would know what to do when we got to the camp site. My husband was greatly disappointed that the connectors used to join the poles together were made of plastic. As I was setting it up, the clips that held the light at the top of the tent broke, I figured I could use velcro to hold the light up, wouldn't you know, I forgot the velcro. When I put the tent back into the bag, not all the pieces would fit into the bag, even though you could extend the back another inch or so. When we got to the site and were anchoring the tent down (by the way, cheap stakes that wouldn't hold the tent down in a good wind, I had to purchase sturdy stakes) and one of the anchoring loops tore right off, leaving it imposible to anchor that side of the tent down without causing further damage. When I was putting the light in, the clips (teeny clips which would not hold anything for long) holding the light switch also broke. It rained and the tent leaked, the mattresses, sleeping bags, blankets and pillows were all wet. Guess we will have to try again with another tent next year.

Picked this up as Sears on Monday. Set it up last night in my backyard to verify all pieces were there and to practice before heading to the lake this weekend. Love the case and all pieces where color coded. Took me about 30 minutes to put it up by myself. I figure the wife and I can do it in 10 or 15 minutes (an hour if the kids help). Follow the directions and it goes together pretty smooth. Slide the color coded poles through the color coded sleeves. Just make sure to put all poles through sleeves before inserting them in the plastic connectors. Once I had it up I went to install the fan and found the plastic ceiling mount broken (small tabs). Instead of bothering with returning it I broke out some electrical tape (don't use tywraps they will but the screen) and had it fixed in a couple of minutes. Everything else worked great. Love it so far and when the wife and kids got home they loved it too! The kids had more than enough room and at 6 feet tall I can walk around the whole inside with be hunched over.

I love this tent! And I have owned a few to compare. The framework used in this hybrid was well designed and far more stable and provides a better roof shape than fiberglass poles alone. The side walls are more vertical than most tents. The frame system uses beefy plastic couplers to join the metal side wall poles to fiberglass roof poles. The couplers are color coded along with the poles to make setup easy once you understand the design. It can be done by one strong person but two is better. Setup time was 15 min. with two adults. This stiff tent should definitely be great in wind! The tent fabric and zippers are the same as most all the tents I have had. No better no worse. The door zipper often jambs with the rain flap that protects the zipper like all other tents do, but clears easly. The room dividers need a way to tie them when rolled up. The two sets of shelves were a real suprise how well they worked. They hang in a place that is totaly out of the way. The headroom is more than I expected, I am 6' tall and can walk anywere in the center room without touching. And can easly walk down both sides of a queen bed with only a slight bend. The interior light and door switch are a nice touch except for the replacable clips that hold them, they break when you even look at them. Serously this his needs a redesign. The fan was too weak to be of use. But still I love this tent! As always with tents make sure to buy better stakes. The stakes provided are to weak and small to hold in most surfaces. Unlike most tents you definitely need 4 to hold the ends out. More if you expect rain/very strong wind. The cary bag as wheels and a zipper that expands the case to make sure you can get it back in it. Nice touch Coleman! I would definitely buy this tent again and I think my friends are replaceing their tents with this one as well.

Just got back from camping with 14 kids. We had a blast. The tent is great, roomy and the light is great. We have had this tent for three years now and have used it many times. It is easy to put up with two people and love the color coded instrutions. I have had no problems with the zippers or leaks at all. Had a little wind and had no problems and we never have used all of the tie downs. At first I was afraid to spend as much money as it was but glad I did. The only problem with the tent is I need another one, so I'm going to buy another one today. I would recommend this tent to anyone with a big or small group.

I purchased the tent for my fammily to use and I first used it at scout camp with one of my sons this week. I is large however it was not well desighned for the winds and the parts that the poles were not well desighned for strength becase one of them cracked when I was putting it together. Then at night the storm hit and it blew over and snaped two others on the other side and it became worthless so i had to borrow another tent the next night and we survived. also the lighting fan works however the cheap plastic part that mounted broke while I tried to get it up the light still worked it just hung from the wires the fan was working however did not blow much air. The tiny metal stakes were not much better than a coat hanger and bent easily on the rocks and did not hold that sand or gravel. I am going to get my money back and buy a Springbar tent I do not recomend it unless the weather is very calm and it is on very good soil.
