To some extent, we’re impulse shoppers: We don’t buy anything unless we can wear it immediately. Thus explains why we’ve never scored a pair of wellingtons (Whenever we consider buying them, it’s all blue skies!) and why we’re scrambling for pieces at the start of every season. (We’re inevitably over what we wore last year.) But, we recently resolved to start planning ahead—and it’s opened our eyes to a life-changing concept: The end-of-season clearance. Rather than jump on new styles, we’re stockpiling separates—and confining them to storage ‘til they're weather-appropriate. Right now? Our sights are set on new coats featuring trends that are bound to remain big for seasons. (Think faux leather panels and dramatic lapels.) Come next November, we’ll be set as ever—and, with the money we’ll save? Rain boots are a must.
