Blogger Challenge: 1 Trend, 3 Ways

by Jill Manoff

We recently challenged a few of our favorite bloggers to put together an outfit in spring’s hottest colors. The clear standout? Cris Zaragoza of My Fashion Juice, who went over and above by styling three looks we love. Check it out.

According to Cris
“We’re in for a bright spring! There's the Dazzling Blue trend and Radiant Orchid—[plus] colors from Mother Nature, such as Forest Green, Sunflower Yellow and Coral. So, while I was shopping at Sears, I picked out pieces in those colors to get me through the season. I got four for about $50—thanks, in huge part, to being a Shop Your Way member.”

Her Inspiration
“The one piece that really called out from across the aisle? Colorful [harem] pants from Paper Tee. I know not everyone has the courage to wear this style, but they are more comfortable than jeans! And easy to pull off. To prove it, I looked around—and came up with three different looks using the same pair of pants.” Bonus? Each was big on spring colors!

Look #1: Preppy
“For a preppy look, I added nautical stripes by way of a blue-and-white shirt from Bongo. I completed the look with a schoolgirl satchel and loafers with a university-perfect crest. Also note that I went with a print-on-print look. Stripes are one of the easiest prints to mix with others!”

Look #2: Boho
“Here, I went with a floppy hat and a yellow eyelet crop top from True Freedom. I finished it off with some espadrille flats for a simple-and-subtle bohemian look.”

Look #3: Work-Ready
“By mixing in polished pieces, like a blazer and classic pumps, this pair of pants can easily be worn for work. Wear a tee underneath the blazer for a business casual look, or a button-down or chiffon blouse to get more serious. This coral blazer is from Metaphor, and comes in several spring colors. And, by the way, it’s a steal at under $20!”
