Country Living  Menlo Park 5 Pc. Chat Set - Auburn cushion

The set looks rich - it arrived perfectly - assembly was easy. Cushions are comfy - finish is good. The only thing that could be improved upon is that the rocking motion could be a bit more stiff - easy to feel that you are reclining too far backward. I wish that they would offer 5 chairs or extra chairs to buy seperate. Everyone wants to join in around the table - it could easily take 5 chairs. Price is fair - even better on sale - with free delivery - it is a good buy.

I bought this last July. Wanted something "today". BIG mistake! Went together ok. i noticed almost immediately something wrong with the finish of the cushions. When you touched them the color came off on your hand. Instead of returning them I procrastinated until the 90 days was up and Sears said "too bad". Less then a year old and you can't even sit on them without being covered in the dye? I'm on the Sears site trying to see if they have slipcovers? Or do I sew something to go over them to make the set usable? I registered for this site JUST to write this review

I had to use a thread tap to clean virtually all of the threads before I could install the screws. Otherwise, we really like the swivel rocker action. The cushions are very comfortable and very nicely made.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, purchase this item or any of the Menlo Park items, if you are going to have the cushions in the sun! Within a few short weeks, the top of all the cushions faded to an ugly gray color. We contacted both Sears and Country Living, only to be told, "The cushion fabric is not covered by a warranty." UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! This "outdoor" furniture uses upholstery fabric that cannot be in the sun!!! Both companies should be ashamed to market something so ridiculous!!! After spending nearly $1000 for this set, we have to spend several hundred dollars more to have upholstery that we can have outside.

First one so poorly made, it could not be put together. None of the pieces fit, etc. None of the pieces fit, holes were drilled in the wrong places so they did not match, cushions were mishapen. Pieces that were already bolted together, were put together wrong. A replacement set was sent, but it was VERY DIFFICULT to assemble. It takes two people, about 8-10 hours, you have to "fix" some of the pieces to make them work, there are way too many parts and bolts, etc. The cushions, in both sets, came squashed and crooked. NOT WORTH IT!! DON"T BUY it.

Takes a little time to put together but with no problems. Instructions easy to read. Set is very quality and comfortable. Swivel chairs work well. We have the smaller and lower round table which is built strong. Would recommend set to anyone.

After reading the many reviews before deciding to purchase this patio set, the final deal seal that sold us was when we were sitting in the chairs at the store and did not want to leave.  Other reviews will state that the construction of the set is time consuming and a challenge.  OKAY, when have you ever bought something that did not take some time to construct and if you are talented (follow the instructions) you can get it done right and it will stand sturdy and last forever.  The key factor is to get organized, layout the pieces, build the item with a lose fit so everthing lines up and go back through and tweak the nuts/bolts with firm torque to tighten.  We got the delivery @ 0900 hrs, unpacked it, laid out all the parts and I was finish with the construction and scotch guarding the cushions at 1230 hrs.  All the parts were there, the instructions were easy to follow and we were enjoying the comfort of our set by early afternoon.  I have been a Sears Customer since 1973 and have always enjoyed my many shopping experiences with Sears, I LIKE QUALITYand SEARS HAS IT!

I Love how this set looks and feels if it worked right, the problem is the welds on three out of the 4 seats bases is at an angel causing the user to be thrown so far back into the seat instead of the normal upright position, and that is not comfortable. The forth seat is ok but has a slight problem being lopsided. This is suppose to be a chat set not a sun lounger. those seats rock so and all the weight of the user (under recomended 250LB) is on two metal strips that flex to make the chair rocking. I called the number provided for service, they had me take more than a dozen pictures of the chairs to look into my claim and after more than three weeks of getting replys like we are still waiting to hear back from China about getting you parts and we are not sure we can replace so many bases, and if you want take back the set to sears, I decided this is not worth my time and took this back to sears for a refund. What a big waste of time. By the way this took me at least 4 hours to put together the chairs it is not that simple, but the worst part is the customer service from TSI Services the contractor for the parts.

got this from sears for a little less than 400 online after seeing it on nextag.  beautiful comfortable and altho a little challenging for my hubby to match up a couple screws, no more so than any other put it together item.  i am putting it in the outdoor kitchen area and the brown tones in background of cushion will offset the cocoa brick and natural tile very well   i will put covers over it or store cushions even tho i will treat with scotch guard spray as precaution ..love it love it   april in sc
