Decent overall, but somewhat annoying
This is a decent little bench grinder overall.
There a few small things I don't like about it though:
1. The small plastic tray on the front should be mounted with a screw or something, it constantly rattles while using the grinder. That gets old after a little while.
2. I have this mounted on the craftsman stand and all it does is walk around the garage floor all the time. You need to bolt this down to the floor if you want to really do anything with it.
I used the grinding wheel and the wire wheel extensively and both worked great.
I now have a buffing wheel mounted on and that works great as well. Not as much room as a dedicated buffing wheel but it works great for occasional jobs and the hobbyist.
Bottom line is I say go for it, just be prepared for a vibrating dish and stand if you mount it to one.

good for home
the grinder itself suffices for home use, no complaints. the first one i purchased went back due to the lamp bulb would blow as soon as the grinder was turned on. second one had same problem so i did some reseach and found that the bulb needs to be a flouresent type. problem solved. next problem....after using less that 10 times, the lamp switch has broken. called parts direct and they dont even show the model # (?) 351.211240. its mounted to a craftsman grinder stand (351.220200), and it should be bolted to the floor due to excessive wander. I'm still happy with the grinder but i sure wish craftsman was still american made. i can get cheap chinese crap anywhere.

I have this for home use and it's perfect. May want something more heavy duty for business or professional use. Occasional use for the home weekend warrior/do it your selfer, you will find it outstanding.

Great grinder for the money
Great little grinder. Has handled everything I've put to it so far. I replaced one grinding wheel with a wire wheel, and that sort of threw it off balance a bit, a can rattle the bench, but that would be my only complaint.

Got this over a year ago and works great. If I was going to buy another one I would spend the extra and get the variable speed one. Other than that it does its job well.

I would have given this a higher rating if it were made in the USA. Craftsman used to all be made here. My grinder bought many years ago is US made. I bought this for a gift. Very disappointing.

it is ok for home hobby use but under powered for any bigger work also when I put it together the mounts for the dust shields had to be modified to fit correctly

Great bench grinder for the workshop
The Craftsman bench grinder is a valuable addition for any workshop for a variety of grinding jobs. Comes with a 30 - 60 grit wheels, moveable light and adjustable eye shields. The heavy cast iron base is very stable once bolted down to the bench or dedicated stand. Power is acceptable for small projects but Craftsman makes other models with variable speed and more power.
