    Great Mower May 21, 2009

    I have a 1/3 acre lot and have been mowing with a non-self-propelled 21" push mower. It's actually fun to mow the lawn now! I opted for this mower over a rider because I like the zero turn capability, and I still wanted the exercise. I like the hour meter so I can gauge when to change the oil, and do maintenance. I also like the headlight feature, if I get a late start occasionally I'm finishing the lawn in the dark. On a good day with the push mower it would take me 1 1/2 hours to mow the lawn, now it only takes 50 minutes. It works well on tall grass; with the deck height set at max. (around 3 1/2") I cut my 6 1/2" grass (after a week of rain) with no problems at all. It used approx. 3/4 of a gallon of gas in the 50 minutes of mowing time which I thought was acceptable. I used the mulching plug for the first time this past week and it worked very well. Leaves your lawn with that finished look that you'd get with a lawn service. It's a powerful mower and does a great job. I did experience some belt squeal when engaging the blades (like some people did in the comment section on the 10.5 horse model) but that was only during the first day out, I just attributed that to break-in. My only real complaints are; The gear selector handle comes to a point so you can see what gear you're in, well mine is off so when I'm in 3rd it shows 2 1/2, and when in 4th it shows 3rd. And the deck washing system doesn't work that well, I've been tilting the mower back slightly and cleaning the underside of the deck w/ the hose. Recommendations for the next model; The blade and drive controls would be more ergonomically accessible if they were beneath the hand grips as opposed to on top. The blades could stand to be sharpened.

    Fair+ overall June 25, 2009

    I have owned this mower for 75 days and am planning on returning before the 90 days policy expires. (and I hate that is my plan) I actually like this mower overall because of the value (I paid about $840 out the door on an absolute steal from my local sears and several neighbors thought I was styling). For the money I spent, this mower is very, very hard to beat for 33" system like this. The good: great value, very powerful engine, good deck height adjusting system, good throttle controls, nice tire setup. The not-so-good: Fair cutting/mulch quality; belt system begs you to have to open the top deck several times per season, so get ready; loud engine (need ear plugs), absolutely HORRIBLE ergonomics on the control handles - awkward, upside down, too large handles, must use both hands all the time; not convenient for backing up even one lousy foot (your choice is to stop, reach down, shift the lever, which is inconveniently located into reverse with gear numbers not lining up in order to move back one foot - very inefficient. Makes up for this inefficiency by excelling on straight runs though - but who doesn't have residential lawn with enough obstacles to require frequent directional changes? Overall: the control handles, and thus, the maneuverability, were the deal breaker for me - my wife and middle school/high school kids could NOT operate this safely! The rest of the downsides, I could have dealt with OK. Reluctantly, I will go back to a 21 inch Honda/Toro/snapper and take a little longer to do my lawn, but I'll have help from the family, a better cut/mulch appearance, and greater maneuverability, and save $400 bucks off what i paid. I learned a lot from this mower, and despite my killer deal, the scales tipped for me to return it. Hopefully, I will help you decide through some of my comments. Shucks, and it was such a good deal!     i have had this mower over the past 2 years. Ive hadnt had a problem with it since then. i cut about 25 yards a week with this mower and it works 100% fine. The only thing i had to change was the blades (but thats exspected) anyways i would recommend this product. very useful and helps cut the time in half.!!!!!!

    My husband and I love this lawn mover it is very easy to maneuvre and easey to use. Instructions are straightforward and we can complete mowing our property quickly and easily. We have a corner lot and it is very difficult to cut the lawn with other lawn mowers but this one makes cutting our property very easy and it is complete in half the time.

    I love this lawn mower!!! We have been searching for a good lawn mower for the past 3 months and this one definitely fit our needs. It gets the job done, isnt loud, and is very reliable. Our grass was out of control and now it is looking like the most beautiful lawn on the street
