    It gets the job done. March 16, 2011

    I purchased this saw because I was having trouble making square cuts on detail parts for my wood projects. This saw can make adjustments for square and angle cuts. The lock for the rotating table could use some improvement as it is difficult to make minor adjustments. The laser light is great to use however it is only works for cuts on you left side. I was having trouble making cuts with it ripping the material. I found that if you first score the cut about 1/8 deep then make a second pass at full depth the ripping will go away. My wife did complain that it is set-up for a right handed person. I purchased it on sale.

    12" compound sliding miter saw May 04, 2010

    This saw is not worth the money, typical craftsman junk, not like the old days.  It wont hold an angle and there is too much play in the slide.  I sent it in for repair and talked to the service guy and he&********* he wouldn't get one.  The tollerance seems to be about+- 3 degrees.  It is about the same quality as **************.  Spend the money and buy a good saw.  I tried to save money and regreted it and bought a real saw.  Not worth the time frustration and money.

    I have done this a few times with craftsman tools and kept kicking myself.  Haven't bought anything at Sears for a long time, just go there to return broken craftsman tools, which is getting harder 

    Sold it on ****, lost $100

    Worked great right out of the box! Laser light is accurate. Nice smooth slide. Powerful. Accurate. I'm resurfacing my deck. There are a lot of angles that are 44.5 degrees. The clamp keeps it there instead of slipping into 45 degrees. As good as the borrowed saw which was twice the price I used the week prior. My only complaint is the cord is too stiff--easy to trip on. Seems typical of Sears cords. I wish they would make more flexible.

    bought this saw three years ago. so far no problems to report. it works just as well now as it did then. the laser guide is useless and i wish the dust collection was better but all in all a good addition to my workshop. i use it everyday so i lubricate and clean it regularly which is important for a tool which is subject to moderate to heavy workload

    this is a great saw for smaller projects. it is great when a larger saw would not be needed as it is a lot easier to move and requires less space, it makes pretty smooth and accurate cuts. the saw head slides back and forth very smoothly. it seems to be pretty durable
