    Excellent drill May 23, 2007

    I bought this drill to replace an old Makita that had to have new batteries. I orginally went to sears to find two new batteries for my Makita. The batteries were 59.95 eack, making 2 120+ dollars. I could buy the complete new Sears drill for 70$ on sale and it came with 2 batteries and its replacement batteries are cheaper. So I thought I would give it a chance. I have now had the drill over a year and use it weekly. It does everything my $200+ Makita did and just as well. Battery life is compariable if not better. I am very satisfied. I especially like the LED light in the base. I cannot tell you how many times that has come in handy. The drill has plenty of power for my duties; around the home repair, building funiture, fence building, wood working general, etc. I would highly recommend. It has been very reliable. Also, the fast charger always has the second battery ready before the one I am using runs down.

    14.4 CRAFTSMAN DRILL October 21, 2007

    THIS WOULD BE A FANTASIC DRILL IF ONLY SEARS COULD CORRECT A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN WITH THEIR POWER DRILLS FOR YEARS. ( THE BATTERIES ARE JUNK ). I HAVE A 2004 MODEL AND THE BATTERIES WERE USELESS WITHIN A YEAR. I BOUGHT A CORDED MODEL DUE TO THE COST OF THE BATTERIES ALONE. NOW I WAS THINKING I WOULD BUY A NEW 14.4 CORDLESS AND THE BATTERIES WOULD FIT MY 2004 MODEL AND I WOULD ALWAYS HAVE A FRESH DRILL TO WORK WITH. AFTER READING THE REVIEWS ON BATTERY LIFE. I THINK IT WILL BE A SMARTER BET TO BUY ANOTHER BRAND OF DRILL UNTIL SEARS GETS THEIR ACT TOGETHER ON A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN WITH THEM FOR YEARS.

    Great drill for light to medium jobs.  All in all like most drills in this price range.

    Bought this to replace an older Ryobi drill. Batteries are holding a good charge and I like the light feature for working in tight spaces with little light. Easy to use and great for all my projects around the house. Can't beat the price for the quality and dual batteries.

    Less than two years old with very little personal use and neither battery will hold a charge long enough to get a job done. Not near as much power as previous 12V Nikita and certainly not as good battery life. The dollar savings not worth the less quality.

    Good drill. Bad charger. Charger failed after charging battery 3 times. Unfortunately low usage caused the unit to be out of the warranty period and could not obtain a charger at the local Sears.
