    very solid hammer

read a lot of good reviews on this hammer which made me buy it even though I could've bought a cheaper one elsewhere, but figured why not spend the money on a good hammer that will last me without the hassles of a risky cheap one

I would recommend this product to a friend.

    Solid hammer, comfortable grip

I just got this hammer to accompany my curved claw hammer. It is a very solid hammer, large head, and comfortable grip. The version I received is darker than the one pictured and darker than my curved claw hammer. I did not like this at first, but I do now. I know that the claws are different, but the color difference makes for easier differentiation. I have an on-going attic project going and the Rip Claw design makes for easy board removal.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

    Very well built hammer

This is very well built hammer. Sturdy but not too heavy. I am impressed by the quality. Will look for similar hammers in the Craftsman line.

    A Great All-Purpose Hammer

There are some things that every household needs; when it comes to tools a couple of screwdrivers, a hammer and a can of WD-40 are what I consider "essentials". I have a couple of hammers but the one that I use most often is the Rip Claw. It has the perfect amount of weight to it for pounding nails back in to floorboards as well as on the steps but it isn't so heavy that it is cumbersome to use. I like the deep recess of the reverse side claw, that makes getting nails of all sizes out of wood a piece of cake. The handles has a thick coating on it do you can get a firm grip on it while you are using it and the head shows only minimal signs of wear. If you need a light duty hammer for small nails, this isn't the best pick for the job. I have ruined a couple of smaller sized nails when I used this because it ended up bending the shaft of the nail instead of pounding it into wood. You can use this on a lot of different types of nails however you do have to be careful when swinging it, always make sure no one is behind you or next to you because if they get hit with the slaw end they could be seriously injured. I have dropped this a couple of times and thankfully it didn't hit my foot or bounce and hit my leg. This is not something that you should leave laying around if you have younger kids in the house because if they would happen to pick it up and drop it on their toes, they could end up with a couple of breaks or fractures. I paid $8.99 for this and it's something that gets used on a regular basis.

    Great hammer

This Craftsman hammer is well-made and durable. It is solid and heavy enough to give consistently heavy blows, enabling one to drive nails in quickly and accurately. The claw on the back is well-made and is effective at pulling most nails out. The angle of the claw can make a few nails difficult, depending on the space available, as the handle of the hammer may hit something before it can go far enough to get a nail out. But that has only been a problem a couple times. The handle is strong and helps absorb some of the force of the blow. By absorbing this force, it helps reduce the vibration and jarring that the user feels in his hand. The heaviness of the hammer helps drive nails quickly, but it can also wear a user out quickly, if he is trying to use this hammer for an extended period of time at once and is not used to swinging something heavy for very long. Some of these drawbacks are unavoidable when producing quality in other areas (ability to quickly drive nails makes hammer heavy), so all in all, it is a good buy.

Great little hammer !! It's nice to see a quality built tool these days!!!

This is a nice hammer and can take a beating! When it arrived I immediately took it out the box and put it to work. I was tearing down a camper trailer to renuvate to a flat bed so I had to basically rip and tear down every wall and this hammer proved its quality. Doesn't look as pretty as the picture anymore but it's tough as ****! Good hammer!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
