Perfect compressor for the Weekend Warrior October 22, 2007

The time had come for a new compressor and having always been around Craftsman tools and compressors, it was natural that I look at them again. Sure, it's loud. What compressor isn't? I'm not putting it in the baby's room, it's in the garage. Sure, it may take awhile to build up pressure. It's a 1.1hp motor, nothing big. So you go out, turn it on, and walk away for a few minutes. I can't think of a time when I *needed to use the compressor this very minute, hurry up!* The included accessory pack is nice and probably saved me around $40-50 compared to buying everything separately. The break-in instructions were clear and everything works exactly as I expected. Very happy so far.

    Failed performance November 08, 2007

Have always liked Craftsman tools, so I've purchased this compressor to replace an older, smaller one. Price seemed fair for the unit. First thing I've noticed during 15 minute brake-in period, was the noise. It'll drive you batty. Closed the drain, after required time and waited for the thing to build up pressure and shut down. It did, after a long time, but at 140PSI, not because it reached desired pressure, but because it tripped the 15 amp breaker. It did the same thing every time and on every circuit I've tried. Was not satisfied with this unit, since I could not use it, so I took it back. Small pump and motor, 1.1hp, make this compressor work harder than it should, with a lot of noise. Could not recommend this unit to anyone. Will buy another brand next time.

    Great size and looks but very noisy & s l o w... April 01, 2008

I purchased this in January 2008 as I thought it was a great price and really like the appearence. The first thing I noticed is it was extremely loud compared to my friends Campbell Hausfeld Extreme Duty belt driven oil lube unit. The noise didn't really bother me too much. What bothered me was that it was very slow and actually never shut off during the break in as it never got over 100 psi. There was a problem with the unit it self and I tried to locate the problem but in the end returned it as it couldn't even break a lugnut loose while I was doing my brakes. If the item was up to par I am sure it would've been fine except for the noise which wasn't really an issue for me. I am still in the market for a used belt driven oil lube compressor instead.

Good compressor for money. Holds pressure well, takes about 10 min to initally fill to 160psi, afetr fill holds well and refills rather quickly I use 1/2 impact 3/8 ratchet with ease. However compressor is very LOUD. Not to bad to maintain pressure in short cycles but leave the garage until at full pressure or your ears will ring but for money good deal typical good craftsman quality overall very satisified if were quiter would give 5 stars.
