      I never understood the difference between a drill until now May 09, 2012

      I have always used cordless drills on all of my woodworking projects switching back and forth between drill bit and driver bits. I had seen the cordless impact tools in the C3 and Nextec lines but never really understood the uses of these tools. Well, I finally got really curious and purchase the Nectec 1/4 impact driver the other day. It works great for driving screws! no clutch to set, it just slows down when the screw is giving resistance because the head is contacting the work and then you can drive the screw to the disired depth a click at a time until it's right where you want it. It doesn't overpower the job and is very easy on the hands because it's very light. Glad I finally bought it, it's a great addition to my tool collection!

      I bought this after buying and returning two rockwells. the rockwells were fine but even the 3rill was not doing everything i wanted it to do, it didn't have the break away power. so i took them both back and got the nextec when it was on sale for $44.99 and it does the same exact thing that both Rockwells did. Im not knocking the Rockwells, but why spend over a hundred dollars for them when the Craftsman does the same exact thing? Im a trim tech for Chrysler and this thing is light weight and and does everything i need it to do. I can take anything off from inside the car and it just works great, and its allot better than having an ar hose in the car trying to use your air tools. If it wont loosen something then I just hand loosen it a little and then use the nextec to take it off the rest of the way. If your a tech don't go and pay 250 dollars for something similar from off the truck, go to Sears and grab one of these. The battery lasts me all day and if your looking for something at home you wont need anything else. Get yourself a set of quick connect drill bits to go with it and your good to go. If your tech I highly recommend getting the Irwin Quick connect set that has torx, phillips, and the adapters that come in a case. Noone else makes it and goes perfect with this impact. Again this impact is great if your going to isse it everyday like I do and Its great if you only need at home,

      This small driver packs a punch! It is better for most projects than my big bulky 18v drill driver because it's substantially lighter, fits my hand much better, and has the torque to drive almost any standard screw or bolt through 2x4. The Li ion battery lasts for hours and the quick charging time helps speed projects along. Most of my home projects are completed with this little dynamo and I've bought them for my Dad and brothers - they love them too!
