    Great Tools Great Price! January 25, 2011

    This Combo and the add on tools are great, convenient and quick! I'm impressed with the power from these light weight tools! I own the "Craftsman 19.2 Battery" line up of tools and these small NexTec tools are "handy" light weight and easy to use providing enough battery life for quick jobs. Yes, the 19.2 battery runs longer, is a larger tool for longer & larger jobs. With the Multi Tool, cutting lower door frames for flooring or cuts for duct work in flooring, receptacles and switch box cuts in Sheetrock has been great. Drill / Power Screwdriver Great. Sander Ok. Saw used for quick Framing, Floor cuts etc. The LED light has been "helpful" in the Attic and in the Crawl Space used with additional lighting. The high intensity LED's make a real difference focused on the project like "wiring" etc. All seem to be standing up to other brands I've seen professionals use. I don't use these everyday for hours and hours! "Doing a rebuild after a flood on our own." Great for a Home Owner. Very good tools to have with my 19.2 Battery and Corded Tools! Not sure how long they will last! But I don't use my Corded tools as much anymore! These are quick! I Received the NexTec "Hammer Head" several years ago as a gift. I didn't think much of it then but it also has helped in tight spots. Not a must but handy to have and better than I gave it credit back then. Battery charges quick also. So far, I've only had to exchange 1 Craftsman tool in 40 years! NexTec, does what it was made to do. I guess it's life will depend on amount of use. When finished with this rebuild, they may last 40 years too! :)

    Nice light and drill, poor saw. December 02, 2011

    The drill is surprising powerful, and had used one of a friend's, prompting me to buy my own, and the light is super convenient.

    I didn't try the sander.

    However, the saw was the real deal breaker for me.  I didn't expect to build a house with it, but it struggled with 1/2 inch plywood.  When the saw was overloaded, it didn't really slow down, it just kicked off the circuit breaker, and I would have to fully release the trigger, repress the safety catch, and then pull the trigger again.  Irritating.  It did cut a beautiful, nearly burr free cut with a very small kerf.

    I think the saw would work very well for a cabinet maker, or someone doing fine crafts because of the excellent cut line and portablility.

    But that is not me, so I returned it.

    ease of use,great combo!

    My husband wanted the kit for Christmas.  Sears had it on sale for a great price!  I purchased it, and he has already begun using it for lots of projects around the house.  Not only is it compact, and easy to store, I think it's a nifty looking set!  The batteries charge relatively quickly, and last for quite a while!  I would definitely recommend this set to a friend!
