    Craftsman 12V Impact Drill April 11, 2011

    My husband bought this drill as an experiment. Usually he sticks with what he knows works best. But this is one time that he was pleasantly surprised! This little guy was well liked by all. Whenever he received help on a job, the helpers chose this lightweight drill first. It was hard for him to keep it for himself.

    The drill is lightweight, has plenty of power for construction grade work. The weight is a positive point, since his wrist had been causing him pain. Not anymore! The drill is not babied either. My husband has a construction company, and has been in the business for many years. This has been one of his favorite purchases. In fact, he is so happy with the drill that he has bought three of them. One he gave as a gift to a friend, who wouldn't leave his alone!! HIghly recommended.

    craftsman tools won't last May 08, 2010

    When I was a newbie I bought these impact and drill combo. I just didn't know better about what kind of tools I need at real construction sites. Well, only thing good about these are batteries maybe. Mine is of course broke and can't be used anymore. 1/4 inch chuck is lose and won't hold nothing. even cheap Ryobi is lighter and will last longer. if you have little more to spend, get makita. I totally wasted my money on craftsman.

    great set of tools, I would of preferred if the drill was a 1/2" but it still works great, my last set of electric tools that I purchased from sears lasted for over 8 years, so I can definitely recommend there tools.

    I have been using Craftsman tools for years and they always hold up very well. The 19.2 volt cordless drivers have great power and hold up well, but there downfall is the battery packs. They do not hold up as well as they should and sears does not back them. I have several of these drivers, but only 2 batteries because they last about a year and then fall off rapidly.

    The tools were great, however no one explained anywhere that in order to get the free bit set one had to include it as an item at the time of the sale. So I got screwed-out of it. Now I remember why I don't often shop at SEARS!

    Pros:
    easy to handle

    Referring to the impact driver, it's much more convenient for driving a lot of screws because it's shorter and easy to change out bits....MUCH easier!  Cool sound to it as well.   Good set if you need the rest of it.  I prefer a 1/2" drill myself so am reselling this 3/8" drill.
