    Good Performer June 08, 2007

    This is a heavy duty trimmer that is easy to use. It did a great job in a short time on bushes that were not trimmed for awhile. I had been using a 16" trimmer that just wasn't up to the task of doing the heavy work. It appears to be well made and has some nice features. The oval handle makes vertical trimming easier. The unit is well balanced for proper handling. The electrical connector and cord support is an improvement over the pig tail. I don't believe you can buy a better trimmer for the money.

    Hedge Trimmer January 14, 2007

    Generally works as advertised. Reliability should be good as with other Craftsman tools. Similar to a Black and Decker model. Good balance. Very, very little vibration due to dual-action blades. Average noise for an electric hedge trimmer. Good manual. May be better suited for cutting heavier, hard items such as hedge branches rather than green stuff and shrubbery such as Taxus, Arbor Vitae, Boxwoods, etc. The unit is constructed such that there is little pressure between/on the two blades allowing them to easily separate. When cutting soft greens, the blades tend to tear rather than cleanly cut the items, later causing browning on the shrubbery. Typical of many B-D and Craftsman (even single blade) trimmers. B-D tends to have a large share of the electric market so it's difficult to find an alternative in any store. Large body makes it hard to use in tight places, and the hand-shield makes it difficult to make full use of the full length of the blade. The blade bracket barely reaches the maximum length of the moving blades to protect against kick-back. Double-lock safety switch needs getting used to. Recommended for hedges but not as a general purpose unit, unless you have another to cut softer branches. Got it for $44.99 on sale good value at that price.

    Some of the best money I have ever spent. I have a very thick hedge. Trimmer never jammed once. Very aggresive for it's size. Would buy another one.

    i bought this on sale with tax $48.00, right away I use the trimmer to cut through the leaf and such, cut through thicker wood stick with one swings, it performance is 10/10, reliability is still a question cause i only used it once.

    I've now had the opportunity to use this trimmer for three weeks on some relatively tough hedges and I'm thoroughly satisfied with its performance. I particularly appreciate its relatively light weight, resulting in reduced fatigue after extended usage. For an average homeowner, I doubt you could beat this trimmer for the relatively modest price. My last Craftsman trimmer lasted 17 years!
