    Craftsman 208cc Dual rotating rear tine tiller-totally worth it! April 20, 2011

    My husband had this Craftsman Rear Tine Tiller put together in minutes. He at once began using it and loves it. It is easy to control when in forward or reverse. It starts easily and tears through the lawn like a hot knife through butter. He has enlarged our garden 3 times and uses it weekly to till between the rows. It is not jerky and does not pull. It is easy to maneuver and I am glad we spent the extra dollars to buy this Craftsman Rear Tine Tiller. It is one of the best purchases we have made in years. Really good quality for your money.

    I recently purchased the Craftsman 208 cc tiller. I do love how it gets the job done once you get it in gear. It is heavy duty enough to plow through tough roots and hard soil.

    My biggest frustration is getting it to shift from reverse to any other gear. Once you have reversed to where you want to go forward again, you have to keep on and on fighting to get it out of reverse. Very poorly engineered in that dept. I got to where I would put it in forward and walk it around just so I wouldn't have to fight to get it out of reverse again. And that kind of defeats the whole purpose of purchasing a tiller that has reverse on it. It really needs recalled and Craftsman needs to fix this problem.

    Also if you want the tines to go in reverse, it is nearly impossible because the gear indicator bracket swings over the top of the idler pulley rod and stops it from popping up to engage the reverse tine mechanism. Very, very frustrating when you are hot and tired and having to baby the gears. I wonder how the prototype ever made it past quality control with such easy problems to see.

    Everything else exceeded my expectations. But having to deal with the gear shifting problem is ridiculous. Get this fixed and I would recommend it to others. I really wish they would recall these so I can bring mine in and have it fixed. If they ever do, please contact me pronto. Wanda Callahan

    I've had this tiller about a month now and have used it almost every day and it has never failed to start on the first pull. Easy to operate once you get the hang of it - I back the throttle off a bit while tilling and do not push down on the handles or it will take off - solid tiller!

    tiller works great but speed is a little fast. im getting used to it. Power is fantatastic. Have been using a Scotts tiller it works great also no reverse tines. Cables keep breaking and usses a lot of belts all have to be ordered online. So i got the new craftsman Tiller

    We love this tiller! It's very powerful and easy to use. It's made putting a garden in this year a shap. Love that we were able to purchase this item on a credit card with 12 months no finance charge and pay it off (almost like a layaway, but we got the tiller right away.)
