    Seems like a good product September 29, 2011

    I just purchased this snow thrower a few weeks ago. I was going to wait until I've actually used it in snow to write a review, but I think the low rating is unfair.  This seems like a great product.  All the parts are very hight quality and construction looks good.  Quickly starts right out of the box with recoil or electric and runs much quieter than my old crafstman with a smaller two-stroke.  I wanted a single-stage snow thrower with good power and a chute aimer at the operating station.  This model fits my needs and has a headlight as an added bonus (rare find on a single-stage).  I don't think the one-star reviewer even owns this model, because the website states it was added on May 31, 2011.  I don't mean to be rude, but you should not be having any trouble changing a spark plug.  Maybe ask the neighbor?  I agree with the other reviewer that it is important to watch for sales.  This machine is a great deal if they knock the price down a bit.  Will update after snowfall.

    sears isnt what it used to be. they sent me a broken snow blower December 08, 2011

    i recieved a dented blower that had been miss assembled. the light wire was cut and then twisted back togather with black tape. the belt came off twice on the first engine run. i emailed sears. i got 4 computer generated emails that i responded to that lead me to never never land. i called the ft wayne store. no response. so i  pulled the cover off the belt housing and found out the auger assy had not been tighted up. once i tightened up the bolt the belt stayed on. but the auger and the belt left a lot of rubber on my sidewalk. i again contacted sears. again no response. ive waited 3 weeks. oh the electric start is 120 volts not 12 as i thought it was. the advertizment is a little illusive. but once you repair the unit yourself and have 100ft of cord you should be fine. it does blow snow. and i fixed the light too. and i bought a new belt and auger paddles and im pretty sure all the rubber from the first run im gonna need to replace them. cause sears isnt what it used to be.

    model 88782.chute control sucks. frozen into position. when i called sears the warranty says two years. they said that since it was beyond 14 days that they would not exchange. over and over I am seeing the phrase design flaw. i also see that sears has discontinued this model of course immediately after we purchase it. SEARS NEVER AGAIN.!!!!!!!!

    Wife purchased this snow thrower for me as a Christmas gift. Worked well the first time. Second use, it broker (discharge chute control broke), now the discharge chute is stuck in one position, making the entire machine useless (cannot change direction of discharge). VERY VERY UPSET. I have only had this product for 3 weeks. Spoke with friends who returned a snow thrower to Sears for repair and it was more than 3 months before they got the machine back. I am a busy person, I don't have time to play games with a service department. Will probably throw the machine in the garbage (set it at the curb). I'd lose more money by being jerked around by the service department.

    Will advise my clients to not buy at Sears.

    During our last NE Ohio snowstorm, my snowblower up & quit (after 10 years) and it was going to cost more than I wanted to put into it to fix it, so I started shopping. I purchased the Craftsman 208cc* (1-5-12) with hopes it would never snow again and it was my safety net . . . but thanks to NE Ohio weather, I got to use it yesterday (1-13-12) for the first time and absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!! It fired right up with one pull ~ didn't even need to use the electric start feature ;0) The added feature of the light was something that I didn't think I needed but I sure am glad it is there now! It is light and very easy to use. Definitely a great purchase and suggest looking at it if in the market for a snow thrower!

    I finnally got to use my snowblower this season i cant complain it cleaned up pretty good i used it at night and the snow was frozen at the time the head light comes in handy.
