    Overall, I am pleased with the 24hp 46in. Craftsman Mower May 13, 2010

    Bought the 24 HP, 46 in. mower to replace my old 42 in. Craftsman.  I have just under 2 acres that I mow and the terrain is fairly smooth but does have some moderately rough areas.  When I mow the rougher areas, the hood begins to bounce and then slides forward causing the plastic engine surround under the hood to rub on the rotating engine top.  Other than that it performs fine.  Guess I'll use a bungee cord to hold the hood forward.

    Good, bad and ugly August 09, 2008

    Have for just 2 months less than 20 hours. I purchased the mulching kit so did not use original equipment blade. Did a lot of research on various models before I thought so thought I had selected a 4.5+ model -not bad just not what I thought Good - Precision Plus very good even cut -Twin engine is quieter than single - Good on gas useage Bad - Acceleration even full bore not great It just seems to lug more than I would expect with 24 HP - Rough ride Ugly - Performance on any incline is terrible Had a 2002 17HP 42" Murruay foot pedal Automatic which in comparison did not cut as evenly but rode was better, manueverability acceleeration, and cutting on inclines all were better

    my mother inlaw owens this mower .for about five years. and i cut her grass with this mower  .and i love this mower. never hade any promblem with this mower.it turns on a dime but the only thing i dont like about this mower is that in reverse in barely moves. but for the price you cant go wrong. me my self i think this mower is better than the zero turn moers.

    I've had this lawn mower for about 8-9 months, I wanted to wait a while before writing a review. Right when I brought it home it was what you'd expect, PROBLEMS- the linkage for the hydrostatic wasn't right, a service tech came out and fooled around with it and we made a garage repair to straighten a bent linkage rod. Once that was taken care of it worked as it should, and has been working well since. It does mow nice, runs nice and smooth, and generally works pretty well. If I bought over again I may have gone with a regular transmission over the hydro, it works well and is nice for quickly backing up, but it lags a little on steeper hills. I bought this one for $1550-1600 and it's a decent mower for that price, but at the $2000+ list price I would buy something else. Good machine for the money, and I don't think you can get anything any better with out paying at least $300-500 more.
