    The Craftsman Gas Blower Starting Ease October 05, 2010

    I have been using a Sears Craftsman gasoline powered blower / vac for the past 25 years!  I have never changed the spark plug and didn't even think about cleaning out the air filter on the engine until last week when I took it apart to fix a leaking fuel line!  I was amazed that it would even start.  I thought after all the abuse that my Sears Craftsman blower / vac took over the past 25 years that I would purchase the new Sears Craftsman blower / vac product number 7179478 to see if I could get another 25 years!  I took my new blower from the box & poured in my fuel mixture while my wife was asking me if I knew what I was doing?  Shouldn't I read the directions first she asked?  I stopped and looked at her & told her to read the directions & if I did anything wrong she could laugh at me later!  She stopped asking questions when it started on the second pull.  It took the second pull because had I read the directions it would have instructed me to place the switch into the start position before trying to start the blower.  I didn't tell her about the start switch.  Don't forget the start switch before your first pull.  Watch for more as I put this unit through the test of THE YARD!

    Not so reliable October 19, 2010

    I wasn't sure about 2 cycle engine at the first place, and this was on sale and the cheapest among Craftsman blowers. Yup I got one and start the very first time just for testing it, 10min later I wanted to start it again, this thing stuck no matter how many time I pull the cord gentle pulling or hard pulling, or even MAD pulling, it just wouldn't start. Well, I took it back to Sears and got myself a 4 cycle, guess what? That thing just day and night compare to this 2 cycle engine, everytime I pull, it starts right away, no more mad pull..... sometimes cheap means something.

    This blower is great at blowing, once you get it started. It takes 3-4 pulls when cold. Vaccuuming is a different animal. To attach the bag you must use a screwdriver to pry open the cover. The cover for the fan should have been engineered with some kind of latch that you don't need tools to open. The bag for vaccuuming is too small and only unzips(for dumping the leaves) about 85 percent of the way. So now you have a place for the leaves to jam up. It mulches well, but plan on dumping the bag every 2 minutes due to the size of the bag. The strap for the bag is poorly designed and mine burned through after ten minutes. It burned through because of the close proximity to the muffler. Heat and nylon don't mix well.

    Easy Start,light-weight,durable,low noise level

    This blower works much better than I had expected, both as a blower and a vacuum.  My only complaint is that the muffler gets cherry red and HOT after running it wide open for about 30 minutes.  Otherwise, it's great.

    Pros:
    Easy Start,light-weight

    I recently needed to replace my gas blower. Limited size lawn (less than 1/4 acre not wooded), but lots of leaves due to heavily wooded areas. So I'm a residential user that needs a blower every weekend during the fall & early winter. Need something light but powerful. The Craftsman 25 cc gas blower has fit the bill. I’m very happy with the purchase - right balance of power and convenience; great value for frequent residential use.

    I found the craftsman 25 cc gas blower to be light and powerful. It starts easy and small enough to easily use around the yard. It has plenty of power to move leaves and other items from the grass. It fills the needs i needed in a gas blower.
