Good blower for small areas May 26, 2007

The blower works well for driveways, walks, patios. I haven't used it for blowing leaves on the lawn, but the blower seems to have a decent amount of power. Switching over to vac is not bad, as long as it's only once in a while. I use the vac once in a while to pick up hedge clippings and pine needles

    Worthless August 06, 2007

I bought this blower last fall and it did work well for the few days that I used it. As of spring, it refused to start. I removed the old fuel and put in fresh gas, mixed with oil in the correct proportion - nothing. I cleaned the plug - nothing. I sprayed Quick-Start directly into the carburetor - nothing. Buy something better. This unit should be pulled out of the stores. A complete waste of money unless you plan on throwing it out in a week worth of use.

I have owned this blower for 4 years. Have rebuit carb once. I have dicovered that instead of pushing on primer bulb for 12 times like instructed I only push blub 5 or 6 times or it will flood. By doing this it starts quick. Also I mix one small bottle of oil with gal of fuel but add about 1/4 more of another bottle. I close choke and pull starter rapidly about twice or three times and engine attemps to start, then I open choke half way and pull starter rapidly and it has always started up. When you put it up in storage empty tank then start engine so it runs till it runs out of fuel. Then remove spark plug and pour 1/4 bottle of oil thru plug hole and crank slowly a couple of time then bring piston to top and replace plug and store it like this till next season. I have done this and have not had all the problem that I read about other people having.

Worked for 2 years then won't start August 14, 2007

What is it with this model? They all seem to have a preplanned life expectancy. I had to rebuild the housing on the carb last year. Whomever builds these things builds the housing to vibrate loose and with poor fit. The outer housing is screwed into an internal piece which in turn is screwed into the body. Real poor design. The bad thing is I will not buy another Craftsman blower. I'll look for an alternative that will last longer.
