    Great Craftsman tool March 27, 2011

    I have a big lot and this trimmer really helps me keep it under control. I really needed the brush cutter for all the heavy brush and glad I got this unit. I have been using this for over a year and it still works and runs like new. I always wait a year to write a review to make sure the product meets my high standards.

    Totally Useless August 11, 2010

    I bought this because of the feature attachments, namely the brush cutter. After using this only 4 times, it quit and would not start. I brought it back to the dealer and it was sent for repair. Two weeks later I received a call from the repair shop and was told it was unrepairable. It seems that the inner bearings went bad and I was told due to the model being so new, there were no parts for it yet. It was sent back to the dealer and a replacement was authorized. I received the replacement and used it twice and the same thing happened - quit and will not start. I am returning this and getting a different model. One thing I can say is that IF and WHEN it worked, it did a decent job. Maybe someone should consider rethinking the inner workings of this model? I would definitely NOT recommend this model.

    This Brushcutter combo, cut all the weeds and grass, I had to do.  It worked very good with the blade, and I am very glad I purchased this unit.

    could be a bit lighter,J hook poor connection for strap,weight,Bad J Hook-Comes off too easy!,primer bulb is junk,The shoulder strap came off!!!,The entire peice of equipment is junk.,Won't start at all.

    I purchased this item in 2011. I used it 1 time on my yard. I began using it a second time and had to turn it off for a minute. I tried to re-start it and could not. I brought it to Sears and wanted to get something different. The said no, it would have to go in for service. I received it back from service, took it home and it would not start. Went back and got the same exact answers. I received it back from service again and it did not start. It cost me to have someone else cut my yard a few times before winter got here. $169.00 for the Weedwacker, $100.00 for someone else to do my yard, still can't use it. It still will not work. Easy start = no start. The only reason it received a 1 star review is because it wouldn't let me post without putting a star. Sears says if you don't like something to return it. Ha! It's such a peice of junk THEY won't even take it back. Sears has just been fired.

    Easy to Change Line,easy to start,Very Powereful

    I always have a problem with getting the line trimmers started, after 80 pulls and choke on choke off 100 times it will finally start and stay running.. THIS TRIMMER STARTS AS SOON AS YOU PULL THE ROPE. Prime it a few times and pull ---- off you go all day long. Works great and easy to start

    Cons:
    Safety - strap and engine heat

    Poor design. The underneath of your forearm rests on the engine while you squeeze the throttle. The engine got so hot that I ended up burning my arm.  I had another gas powered weed trimmer made by a different manufacturer that recently went up and had to be replaced. That one never touched my arm so I never was in danger of being burned.  What appealed to me about this one was the price for a combo unit where I got the grass trimmer and brush cutter. However, I didn't realize the importance of design until getting burned by this Craftsman model.  My suggestion is to hold the unit in the store before buying and seeing if your forearm rests on the engine while you squeeze the throttle.  If so, look for a different model.
