Craftsman  3-Drawer Workbench Module - Black/Platinum

Purchased Craftsman Professional 5ft Workbench and ordered this 2 days later. The website states "must be used with a workbench". Also says: 1) pick your workbench 2) pick your top 3) pick your drawer accessory. Well this drawer module will NOT work with the 5ft workbench. No way, shape or form. Did not discover until I wasted time, gas and energy to pickup and partially assemble. Very disappointed. I returned it and bought a small black Craftsman roll-around chest ($93) to roll underneath the bench instead. Don't know if it will actually work with any of the other workbenches. It is made of very thin sheet metal and not capable of holding heavy objects.

steel used for drawers is flimsy. paint is scratched very easily. would be better if paint was powder coated and would consider paying more to have powder coated finish.

This was part of the 6' metal workbench with backwall - overall the rest is awesome, but these drawers are not very sturdy, very thin, and no matter what I try do not want to properly align. they will not close. In my opion these are not worth the cost and I still may disamble them and return them.

I can see how some of the other reviewers thought this module was flimsy, and it is - when you are pulling it out of the box. The metal gauge could be a little thicker, but the finish on mine was nicely applied. Once it is installed with the workbench frame and is square (take your time and the drawers will slide and close smoothly), it is no different than any other Craftsman toolbox. The drawers, especially the bottom one, are generously sized and can hold a lot of bulky tools. I lined mine with the drawer liners and have been very happy with the decision. Even with the module installed on the 6-foot workbench frame, there is room between the uprights for two stools, or a stool and a shop vac - lots of room. Overall I am happy with the decision and love the workbench setup.

I bought this unit along with the 6ft bench, stainless steel top and backwall. The other items listed are excellent quality, or at least acceptable for the price. This unit however is awful. I have filing cabinets that cost 1/4 of the price that are thicker guage metal. This thing is flimsy. Beyond flimsy. I have since visited a store and seen the display and it is in worse shape than mine. I should've gone in first myself. The tolerances are subpar. The bench is level, plumb and square. Nothing shuts properly - and I have adjusted it "six ways to Sunday". Ughhh.

I purchased this 3 drawer module to accessorize the workbench kit I bought and OH MY GOSH-this piece of garbage is not made to Craftsman standards at all. Craftsman has been a brand used by many generations of my family and having outfitted my husband's garage with Craftsman tools and tool boxes, imagine my complete horror when I finally received this garbage (waited over 6 weeks for this delivery) there is absolutely no durability, it is as flimsy as cardboard and is just ****. This Christmas present will be returned and my devotion to Made In America Craftsman products is no in question. Craftsman tools and products have gone by the wayside as far as the quality standards and have sold out like so many other companies-it's not about us, the consumer, it is about the all mighty dollar. They have compromised their integrity as a company by outsourcing their manufacturing. Like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end!! Good bye Craftsman-we will have to rely on the "old" stuff and look for better quality tools and accessories.
