decent mower for the price May 04, 2007

bought this mower for the summer to use to cut other peoples lawns. had a previous sears mower but the drive system didnt work very well on it. so this year i bought this one. its got a great briggs engine on it starts on a half a pull. wish is had ready start and fresh start on it for the price you pay they should put more on it rather then a regular briggs quantum engine. its light weight which is always nice missing a throttle control which i miss, i have a toro personal pace mower with a briggs on it which i would recommend more but for a low price this mower is a steal as long as you take care of it and dont have to take it back and deal with sears.

    Poor Product May 19, 2007

I was hesitant to buy this after reading the other reviews, but with a great sale price, I gave it a try. I wish I hadn't. Horrible mower. Way too much slop in the handle - pushing a level field and the handle fluctuates several inches vertically. The wheels wobbled a small amount out of the box - can't imagine they would have lasted very long. The handle w/ automatic cutoff was the most uncomfortable I have ever used (and I previously used the cheapest mowers available on the market). Add to this the fact that the darn thing didn't even cut the grass cleanly. I didn't have the wheel adjustment problem my first cut and I still thought the thing was a piece of trash. The $130 mower I bought last time I needed a mower was a better mower, IMO. It died after 3 years, but I doubt the Craftsman would have lasted that long. I definitely won't buy a Craftsman mower again.

This is a great mower the price is alot cheaper then others. It has a big engine that starts frist pull everytime the mower is light and easy to push i would tell enyone to get this mower best bang for the buck. I got it to replace my $450 Toro brand mower and i cant be more pleased

A good mower so long as your grass is short and not on a spongy base. If the grass is more than 4" long and the base is spongy, it will stop every few seconds even on the highest height setting. This is because the unit sinks into the grass base and the 6.5 engine cuts out.

I looked at several different lawn mowers - and read lots of reviews. I had never really considered rating a product before, but after reading so many different reviews on lawn mowers, I decided to make a point of it this time because I found it useful in making my decision. So, regarding this lawnmower - I am very pleased with it - it started right up the first time, the second time, and each time. I had been using an electric mower previously and found its performance lacking. Switching back to a gas mower made a big difference and I am very pleased with the performance of this mower. Would definitely recommend it based on both perfomrance and value.

Quality and performance better than expected July 06, 2007

This is a great lawnmower for the money. Startes with just one pull. This is a simple machine that is inexpensive yet performs remarkable well. It's easy to attach/detach the mulch bag. It folds up compact to store in a small space and quickly assembles when you are ready to mow. I did damage the rear deflector first time out by being overly aggressive in pulling the mower backwards over roots. The parts were easily ordered online. I beleive this mower will last many seasons.
