    Reliable performance all summer March 09, 2010

    We have enjoyed - GREATLY - the performance of this tiller. In the mountains were we live there's a lot of rock in our soil.  This tiller keeps right on going.  Does a fine job and runs very well.  Takes a LOT of work out of gardening for us - a welcome relief!

    I bought this tiller two years ago expecting the high quality of Sears products that I have experienced before. Unfortunately, Sears should be ashamed to sell a product of such inferior quality.I used this tiller 4 times on a small back yard garden for about 15 minutes each time. It is stored inside my garage and I take very good care of my equipment. The transmission refused to go into gear the last time I used it. The cost to replace the transmission is almost the cost of a new tiller. Beware!!!! Do not buy this tiller from Sears. I have read many complaints. I wish these complaints had surfaced before I bought this tiller. I have been a loyal customer of Sears for over 40 years. I know Sears is aware of this problem from reading the complaints. It is a shame that Sears has not recalled this tiller due to the many complaints. They have lost another valued customer.

    I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY ELDERLY PARENTS. WHILE IT WAS RUNNING IT DID A DECENT JOB. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AFTER A COUPLE OF YEARS OF VERY LIGHT USE. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION FIXED AND ONE WEEK LATER IT THREW A ROD OUT THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK. iM SURE THE TILLER COULD HAVE JUST BEEN A LEMON BUT i THINK THAT MOST BRIGGS AND STRATTON MOTORS IN GENERAL ARE JUNK. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL AND NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER HAVE HAD ANY GOOD DEALINGS WITH. I HAVE HAD THEIR TOP OF THE LINE ENGINES AS WELL... IE. ON A COMMERCIAL GENERATOR THAT HAD A VANGUARD MOTOR. IT WAS NO DIFFERENT AND THE CARBURATOR WOULD LET THE GAS SIPHON BY AND FILL UP THE OUL RESEVOIR IF YOU EVER FORGOT TO ACTUALLY TURN OFF THE GAS VALVE. I FEEL LIKE IF I SPENT $2400 DOLLARS ON THE GENERATOR ITSELF THAT YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE SUCH AN ELEMENTARY PROBLEM BUT I CONTINUE TO DO SO. THEN THERE ARE THE NUMEROUS MOWERS AND SUCH THAT I HAVE OWNED OVER THE YEARS AND THE STORY IS THE SAME IF YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO LAST BUY A KOHLER, KAWASAKI, OR YAMAHA OR HONDA AND CHANCES ARE THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO BE TYPING AND WARNING OTHERS OF THEIR LOSES IF YOU WILL HEED TO THIS TID BIT OF ADVICE. I AM NOT TRYING TO BE BASHING ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS BUT I\QUALITY IS QUALITY AND CRAP IS CRAP. THANKS

    I bought this tiller back in '09 and have put in 4 gardens with it so far. My husband felt it was kind of 'strange' that I wanted a 'tiller' for my Mothers' day gift, but this is something that I would never purchase for myself and was something that we could 'use' and 'benefit' from. This tiller is powerful, but not 'intimidating'. It really is fairly easy to use and easy to adjust the 'depth', etc. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to plant a 'substantial' garden, or even just a small 'plot'. This was a purchase that I truly will never regret.
