    Solid alternative to the Fatmax August 25, 2010

    I was in the market for a good quality measuring tape and my friend in construction kept telling me to get the Stanley Fatmax.  However, I went to Sears to pick up some other items and I came across the Craftsman 26ft measuring tape on sale.  I couldn't resist since I have purchased other Craftsman brand products and been quite happy. 

    So far this has been a great purchase.  It is tough as nails and works exactly how it should.  Even on clearance, the product is well worth the cost vs. other brands.

    Blade brake design March 18, 2007

    I have used craftsman tapes for years because of their durability and was totaly addicted to the old style of blade brake. I hate the button on the fron that you have to slide down to lock. I much prefer the design that made the entire bottom of the tape a break release. I think marketing really dropped the ball on this one and I will be shopping elsewhere for the tape with the break release on the bottom. Larry

    Well built

    The ruler is very solid. Can lock with only using thum. Has the metric system so and use in Canada or when ordering in the metric system.
