    The Craftsman Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachment works great. October 12, 2010

    The Craftsman Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachment is a great addition to my Craftsman trimmer.  I have the weed trimmer, edger, pole saw, and blower and use them regularly in my home services business.  It's great to have the versatility in one tool.  It's less to carry on my trailer and it's very easy to change between the different attachments.  I would highly recommend the Craftsman line of trimmers with the attachment assortment.

    The reason I would not recommend this attachment is because I went to Sears this morn to purchase it and was told it would not fit my Sears edga trimmer. Reason was because my trimmer was a straight shaft. Sears made this product to fit other brands but not their own.

    I used this for the first time today and found it to be very heavy and cuts poorly. Any cuts over 1/4 inch was a struggle.

    Every year for the last 22 I have loaded my car with tent and tools and headed for the Oregon coast. I have 4 acres on a lake there and I get my full of green and exercise in the summer bringing it back to golf course pretty after winter. I try to add another attachment each year to my 4 cycle Sears cutter. This Articulating Trimmer rounds out the crew and I use it to attack the BlueBerry vines that grow like weeds. Between this and the chain saw attachment, nothing remains standing.

    The title says it all. I was looking forward to getting this and when it went on sale I jumped at the chance. It's one of the reasons I bought my particular edging machine,: the ability to attach this and other equipment since it has the convertible shaft. I was very wrong. The unit attaches fine but is slow and hesitant to move even at full throttle, and even after oiling the blades. At first I thought it was just a stiff mechanism that needed some breaking in. I've used it 6 times or more with no change. The attachment also adds a lot of weight and is really cumbersome for doing extended or work on high trimming. You are much better off getting a good electrical trimmer at $70 than spending $100 on this

    This attachment is a must have for anyone wanting quick-quality work. If you're a home user or a landscaper this product is for you. It is very easy to attach. Just push it in and tighten the knob. The price is affordable and cheeper than purchasing an intire new machine.
