Pkg says CRAFTSMAN, product does not
I bought this 50 foot garden hose online at SEARS.com, based upon the package label clearly stating CRAFTSMAN. All of my garden hoses are Craftsman - I like the guarantee, and only one has failed (easily replaced) over the years. Many have not. When I received this particular one, the hose itself does not say CRAFTSMAN. Only the cardboard package says CRAFTSMAN. This makes me suspect that if it does fail some day, I'll be hard pressed to easily have it replaced by Sears. Thus far I've had this for approx 1 month, leaving it out in the summer heat, and using it regularly. Thus far it does what a garden hose should do (5 stars, recommend buying). If you are looking for the product to state on it CRAFTSMAN, this is your warning. (1 Star deduction = 4 Stars total)

Will develop bulges on the hose and does kink. replaced twice already....
It is a thin wall reinforced hose material. Nice solid brass fittings but.... It will develop bulges along the hose as you use it. I had like three separate bulges developed along the hose. I have replaced it twice already under warranty. It is not as durable as the black heavy duty rubber hose. Yes it does kink once in a while. So with the lifetime warranty and love going to Sears to replace so that you can look at all the new power and hand tools it shouldn't be a problem. But if your wife uses this hose, she may not be too happy with the quality. So there is your tradeoff...

Will Not last forever
The hose will not last forever. I Bought 3 of the hoses and they lasted 15 years I don't think these will last that long. The new hoses do not have a tightening nut on the male end like the old hoses. But I did not have any problems getting them replace and don't expect to have any problems getting these replaced when they wear out.
I would recommend this product to a friend.

Hot weather hose only
When temperature drops below 75, don't expect to be able to unroll this hose.....all you have is a giant coil spring hose.....guess it will be alright this summer, but will be useless when the temp goes down.....

It is as described, a fairly heavy-duty hose that resists kinking. It's well made, and so far (about a year) has worked as expected. I would not have sprung for it had the price not been discounted as a featured item on sale for 24 hours by Sears.

Seriously, self straightening? It's still as twisted as a politician. And it leaks at the faucet. Has done so since the first use. Cheap, inadequately sized grommet.

Hose does kink.
We just purchased this hose and after using only twice it is kinking!!! I live in Florida so it is not because of the cold, I went to water a plant and could not get water because it was kinked inside the hose reel. I will be sending back.
