    Great Match for the Craftsman Bench January 10, 2012

    I have had this backwall on my Craftsman bench for a few years now and it has held up very well.  I have hung a lot of tools and a couple of wire baskets on it without any sagging or leaning.  It's a perfect match for the bench.  Attaching it to the bench takes some patience as you're dealing with a very heavy object with sharp metal edges.  I had to use gloves and get a friend to help hold it while inserting and tightening the bolts.  The assembled bench and back board are very heavy, so this is definately meant to be a stationary work bench.  The only negative I've noticed is the pegboard hooks tend to fall out when I grab tools because the sheet metal isn't as thick as a regular peg board; but perhaps I just need to find a different type of hook.

    Craftsman Professional 5' Backwall won't fit 8' bench October 19, 2010

    I bought the 5' back wall for an 8' bench because I was installing cabinets on either side and only needed a backwall for the center 5' section.   However, the 5' backwall is made to only fit the 5' bench.   The 8' backwall is too big for my application.   I returned the unit since it won't fit.   I will build a backwall on the wall between the my cabinets.

    It's a good idea to actually read the instructions -- or else remember to leave the fasteners finger tight until most of the assembly is done. I had to loosen a few bolts to get it square. Beautiful, sturdy, and easy to assemble.
