This removes all sizes of bolts regardless of how it is stuck.
I currently am a Soldier that does alot of do it yourself projects. However, my previous jobs in which I have used the stud remover include 10 years active Navy as a Machinist Mate and 12 years as a maintenance technician working for various plastic manufacturers. Regardless of the size of the broken bolt/stud or the how it was stuck for example - rusted in or cross threaded. I have found the cam lock stud remover dependable in its ability to extract the bolt. When the stud remover slips over the bolt and starts to torque on the targetted bolt; this product has never slipped on me.
The only real drawback I have found for the stud remover is that the studs need to be at least long enough to be caught by half of the cam. The other thing I find is that no one knows how to use the tool or about its capabilities so the "cam lock stud/bolt remover" is not marketed really well and can not easily be found.

Should be a "have to have" tool
This should be a required tool for every tool box. However, quality is greatly reduced and not up to Craftsman standards. The gripping teeth are poorly cut or the casting is worn out, looks like a typical low quality import part not a Craftsman tool.
Cutting cost on tools is never a smart move. I expect my tools to last many many years and this one will have to be replaced in the not too distant future.

Not worth it...
I am generally a large fan of Craftsman tools, they are made well and work well. This extractor has been in the catalog for a long time, I've never had one that worked well. This extractor requires that the stub of the stud be sticking out of the casting by a fair amount in an accessible area to even have a chance to work. Broken studs just are not found like that. Craftsman Stud Remover is worth the money!
I am restoring a 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A, I needed to removed all the head studs, and exhaust studs from the 62 year old engine block (to prep for machine work) I did have to heat the engine block and studs with my oxy-ace torch before using the Craftsman Stud Remover....but in the end all the studs came out!! Great tool!
I would recommend this product to a friend.

i have one that i bought many many years ago.an excellant tool. i bought this one as a christmas present for my son inlaw. its a huge dissapointment, it looks nothing like its photo the casting is cheap. the teeth are poorly cut, almost non exisitant. a complete waste. do not buy!.

Good idea, poor execution
Seemed like it'd be worth a try. Wouldn't grip my 10mm stuck studs. Just slipped and ruined remaining threads. Cheap steel. I hate to return tools, but this one is going back. It's over priced by a factor of two until it gets a thinner profile, chrome coating, and machined/laser cut gripping teeth.
