    This Garage Door Monitor is more than worth the $ July 27, 2010

    I happened to find this item on sale and picked it up. I used to forget to close the garage door all of the time, but not anymore...... a quick glance in the direction of my main light switches and I can tell whether the garage door is open or closed.......Awesome!!

    Garage door monitor poor battery life December 20, 2009

    I found the garage door monitor burns through batteries very quickly.  The battery lasts no more than 4 to 6 weeks.  The problem might be that I spend a lot of time working in the garage with the door open so it may be transmitting the open signal continously.  To solve the problem I mounted the monitor on a swivel next to the door track, removed the battery and hard wired an AC converter with a 3 volt DC output to the battery contacts.  The workaround is OK but I am less than impressed with the original design configuration (battery) longevity.

    It's another great craftsman idea, but, this is my second one. The first had hard time one floor up reading the transponders. I found the garage door open a few times. This one better work!!!!

    Can anyone tell me what it means when both lights are flashing?It worked well til a day ago.Ichanged battery in it and still get flashing lights whether door is open or not.
