Great little dual processor September 09, 2010

I bought this for two reasons. First, I wanted to eat healthy. I use this to blend all my smoothies. I freeze strawberries, peaches, bananas and blueberries and when I feel like snacking, just pop them into the food processor with yougart. Great for a quick healthy snack in the morning. I'm also started baking and this little machine has been perfect for mixing batter and chopping food. Delighted with it. The base feels a little cheap but I've been using it non stop for over 3 months now without a problem. My only con is that it's extremely loud. Sounds like I am drilling holes in the wall when I make my morning smoothies.

Cuisinart Duet Blender March 31, 2011

I bought this blender a while back and it has been a pretty solid blender. It comes with a food processor attachment but I rarely use it unless I am making salsa for one because it is so small. Clean up is pretty easy but you do have to be very careful with the blade attachment, sharp ouch! It has enough umph to blend through ice and such so it's not that bad for the price. I would recommend this to someone who is looking for something that is inexpensive and reliable.

The cuisinart blender includes a food processor December 29, 2011

Number one reason to purchase this blender was because of the glass jar. After that, it was the combination of a food processor and blender in one unit...great space saver! The blender design is sleek and looks good on any countertop. It is also very easy to clean.

Small but Mighty ---BROKE ON SECOND USE OF FOOD PROCESSOR June 27, 2011

    Pros:
    convienient,multiple attachments,all purpose,NONE ANYMORE
    Cons:
    plastic not metal,BROKE - DON'T BUY

Do not purchase these facebook deals. I thought I was getting a bargain.  This appliance broke the second time I used it...I went to grate cheddar cheese and the cheese and blade went round and round and did not shred.  I think the plastic part that attaches to the blade would not hold the blade and was stripped.  I coiuld also not return the item, since it wanted a replacement, the store does not carry it.  I should have just got a refund. I figured I would call and have them ship me a new one, but the store would not allow that and would not allow me to get a similar product. I would only get what  I paid for it, even though it's a $99 item.  I will not make any  more discount purchases online. so not worth it.  I own a broken item that I can't use. WORTHLESS!!! THAT IS WHY IT WAS SO CHEAP!!!

Loved the facebook page with the deals. I didn't have any issues with the links.

I received my new blender/food processor within a few days of ordering. Very prompt. The box it was packed in was sloppy and all of the peanuts were all over the place and the oblong box which was 3 ft long was crushed and open, but the blender box survived. They really need a better packer...

I checked out the blender by making frozen pina coladas, the blender is glass, which is nice, but all of the other parts are plastic, including the "stainless steel" plastic base. But it is well-built. I added ice to the jar and used the ice crusher to crush my cubes, it did well, but the ice got stuck in the blades, like most blenders. And watch out for that blade it is sharp! When you put on the blades, and put the unit together, it forms a well in the bottom where the ice gets stuck. I poured the liquids in and added more ice and realized that it was almost at the top of the blender jar. I had to pour some out, as the lid does not seal, and the liquid was coming out at the top. So even though it is a 4 cup jar, the ingredients will overflow if you don't leave enough room for the liqids to blend. The blending action is good, it sort of pulses out of the well, so maybe that was the intention.

The function buttons are confusing as there is an on and off and a ice crush button in the center. Then the right side is the food processor options and the left is for the blender. But you can use all of the buttons for either. The ice crush button is more of a pulse button that you can use for short bursts when mixing ingredients.

The food processor is powerful. I put in a block of parmesan cheese to shred and it was done is a flash. The noise scared me and the cheese did not completely chop. That is the one thing I hate about these is the space between the slicing blade and the chute is too large, that when you push the cheese through, it leaves a large bit that is not shredded.

All in all, I am pleased with my new appliance and can see me using it more often than my full size blender. It is a good size for one or two people, and for doing small jobs. One day I will bite the bullet and buy an expensive full size food processor, but I love the dual function of this unit. It is handy and looks good.
