    The Cuisinart Premeir coffee maker is the best I've ever owned. April 25, 2011

    I did weeks of research before purchasing this product. I settled on Cuisinart because all across the board it had received five star ratings. I also have a few friends who have had this model of coffee pot for several years without incident and are still happy with it. I am not a person that likes to throw good money after bad. So, it was important to spend my money wisely. I feel like I did that here. I've had my fair share of cheesy, cheap coffee makers, and I could see and feel the quality of this model immediately from unpacking it. I have read many other reviews of this product and found myself being annoyed with how it was that people rated them. I found some purchasers giving this model four stars because they claimed the lid leaked when you poured (only if you don't have the lid on right, or you pour crooked does it do that). I found one review that said it was loud (it's no louder than my old cheap one). Another said the beeps were annoying (they only last for a few seconds). Yet another gave it four stars because it was too tall and it didn't fit under his counter and then the cord was too short to put anywhere else (that's what happens when you don't adequately research your product before purchase...I knew the dimensions of this coffee maker and how long the cord before I bought it). One other person gave it a less-than-stellar rating because the lid has to be taken off to get water in it (oh, the injustice...not a big deal to me). Someone else said it was hard to get the water all the way in (make sure the lid to the coffee maker is all the way back, and use your left hand to pour...this is not rocket science). Another person gave it not so great ratings because the measurements for the water levels are on the indside of the water resiviour and not on the outside where they can easily be seen (well, unless you're an idiot and you can't measure your water using the numbers printed right on your coffee pot....you'll do just fine).

    This is a fabulous coffee maker. My favorite feature is the caraffe temperature control. My house (and therefore everything in my kitchen cupboards) is cold during the fall/winter/early spring months as I don't heat my whole house (just the rooms I use). This means that half the heat from the first cup of coffee I pour into a cold coffee cup is lost to heating the cup (unless I warm the cup up first which is sometimes a feat when not fully awake). With this pot, I can pour a very hot cup of coffee for the first cup, and then turn the caraffe temp down to low so the coffee doesn't taste burnt in an hour. I can now have the same fresh tasting coffee in two hours that I did in the first five minutes of brew time.

    If you're looking for a coffee pot that is well made, easy to use, and makes great coffee...I would recommend this model.

    Only time will tell on it's durability, and as with all products I have taken this much time with before purchase I will try and come back to this in six months for an update on that part of it.

    Not worth the price April 02, 2011

    I received this as a wedding gift and it broke after 2 years. Cuisinart would not take it back since I didn't have a receipt and they said it's ID number showed that it was about 3 years old. They were rude on the phone and it was not fixable, I had to toss it. I have had cheap coffee makers that work just as good and last longer. My friend owned the same one and hers broke too. I will not buy anymore cuisinart coffee makers!!!

    I bought this coffee maker in Feb. 2009 and I have used this pretty much every weekend or when I'm on vacation. Since I can't this coffee maker to work....darn! Anyhow, for someone who loves HOT coffee, the carafe setting is nice....always on the "High" setting. But, I do have to say something that I experienced several months ago re: cleaning the unit. Something of which you may want to take notice to. When I was cleaning my unit, I noticed that there was alot of coffee grinds that had acccumulated at the bottom/corners of the water reservoir (probably from my own doing...spilling them while filling the filter) and so I decided to wash out the reservoir. I took my kitchen faucet, tipped the unit towards the sink, and started flushing the unit out. After several minutes of doing this, the reservoir was clean, and then I tilted the unit as to let the remaining water drain out for the remaining day. Now, after leaving it this way overnight to dry out, I plugged the unit in to make coffee...No luck. Darn....! But, after leaving the unit tilted towards my bsm't sink for several more days to dry out even more...I'm still using it!! Talk about a durable unit!!! So, should one do what I did when cleaning it......nah! Just stick to directions given. Even though, I shouldn't have to clean it for several more years since this was my 1st thorough cleaning of the unit since I bought it. Wish me luck

    We have had this pot for about a week and it has been awsome! Was tired of spending little money and thought we would not go way high end, but not cheep anymore! Love the temp control on the plate and the quiet beep to let you know when ready! Also, love the fact that it tells you when you need to clean, no more guessing!!

    I purchased this coffeemaker after my old one died and I love it. I get it ready at night, set it to go off at a certain time on the morning and wake to the smell of fresh coffee brewing. the only drawbak is that if beeps when the coffee is finished brewing and it can be a bit annoying forst thing in the morning....
