Electrolux  IQ-Touch™ Steam 4.1 cu. ft. Front-Load Washing Machine  ENERGY STAR®

After searching the internet for a front load washer and dryer, this pair had all the things on my wish list. I've only had them for about a week and I absolutely LOVE them. I would definitely recommend them.

Traditional top loader needed more work than I wanted to spend...I was very hesitant to spend this kind of money for "just" a washing machine. I can't say enough about how pleased thought I made the purchase. I have never been one to reset the machine for each load but with this machine and it really makes a difference. The level of cleaning is easy to see that it so much better. The efficiency of the water, spin, and use of detergent is unbelievable. Used the steam option to clean couch covers. Totally different sounds but love them. Love the lighted interior and ever so sweet ding when the cycle is complete (you can disable all of these features too). I like that it is also the same height as my traditional dryer. A lot easier transfering from front load washer to front load dryer without any of the additional elevated steps.

I love this machine. Works perfectly. NO COMPLAINTS. Owned it for about a year. Use about everyother day.

I purchased the beatiful blue Electrolux, EIFLW55 at the Sears Outlet with 'cosmetic damage.'  My twenty-five year old Kenmore Series 80 had bit the dust.  I made the purchase with some trepidation as it seems like every model that I had looked at came with some negative reviews and bad experiences.  Obviously, people are doing their laundry so not every washer comes with problems.  So, I picked the Electrolux as I read good reviews, plus, it is the only one other than some Kenmore elite that has the reversible door which I need due to my laundry room layout.

I was not present at the delivery and set up so I didn't have a chance to ask the installers to do a test run.  I was looking forward to using the new unit but I had to wait two weeks because I was busy, I wanted to be very thorough in reading the instructions, plus we went through a rainy period and since I line-dry my clothes I do not wash when it rains.

So, two weeks after arrival I was ready to 'give it a spin.'  I filled the washer and shut the door.  I knew exactly what settings I wanted so I pressed all the right buttons and finally, start.  This was followed by a small lurch of the tub.  Then nothing, and more nothing.  Finally:  E 9F.  Call service.

I called service and they were very helpful.  I have an appointment with repair tomorrow and hopefully something can be done about it.

I am very disappointed with Electrolux as a brand new washer should not fail right from the get-go.  I am also disappointed with Sears outlet as the tag indicated cosmetic damage and that the unit had been tested before it got on the sales floor.

I am tempted to place some blame on myself for buying at Sears Outlet plus buying the more complex front-loader, some of which have problems at least according to the reviews.  However, I think that it is Electrolux's responsibility to manufacture goods that operate as described.  Plus, it is Sears Outlet's responsibility to sell items that they know are functional and operable.

In the meantime, my laundry continues to pile up. . .

I am very disappointed in my Electrolux washer and dryer.  The clothes do not get clean and odors are not removed.  I do not over stuff my washer or dryer with to many clothes, however, the purpose of purchasing this larger washer and dryer was to be able to wash more clothes at one time.  The process of starting the washer and dryer is a series of pressing the start button then waiting a few seconds for the lights to come on then setting cycle then waiting a few seconds then pressing again to start.  The dryer also has some engineering issues.  The lint trap is located in the curve of the bottom of the dryer and tanks and bras and straps get caught on the corner of the tray and tear up the clothing and the lint tray so that it doesn't fit properly.  Also, touch doors are not as easy as they look on the commercials.   Kelly Ripa does a great job of marketing the sorry appliances.  Company need to take a serious look at these and make some necessary improvements.  Cant wait to get rid of them!!!! Take my advice and stick with a Kennmore or Whirlpool.

brought this washer with the maching dryer both work great and look great . my laundry gets very clean and the dryer dries very quickly and love the options.

I love our new Electrolux IQ-Touch Steam washer.  It is especially quiet, Iove the many washing options and the EASE of use.  Thought it would be complicated- way easier than my old top loading machine to figure out which temp, speed, etc to select..  Clothes come out almost dry- I can not believe how fast my clothes dry in the dryer-after spinning in the washer. 

Love everything about the washer.  I did want to comment that the overpriced pedstal, which I liked for the extra storage and the heigth it added to the machine, I can not use the drawer because we are using the leak pan since our machine is on the second floor.  The leak pan prevents the drawer from opening.  Electrolux should design a pedstal drawer that can be ordered if the homeowner is using the washer/pedstal with a leak pan.

We got our IQ Touch w/ steam Washer and Dryer a few weeks ago, so I have just done a couple of weeks worth of laundry. There is definitely a learning curve. Read the manual and order the DVD instruction video (I haven't received it yet).  I bought the Electrolux because of the reversible door - it's the only brand that has that feature.  We HAD to have the door swing the opposite way of all the washers out there because of the location of our laundry room door....especially since you need to leave the washer door open most of the time so the gasket doesn't get moldy.  I also love the stackable feature.  That made room for our 2nd fridge so it didn't have to be in the hot/cold garage anymore. Everything seems to dry much quicker. I think it is the combination of ultra high spin in the washer and the stainless steel drum.  Clothes and towels are a little scratchy, but I don't use fabric softener. The biggest negative is the cost, and Electrolux doesn't allow retailers to discount it.  I did buy during a rebate and got 10% back.  We are buying an extended warranty online....way cheaper than from the store.  With all the electronics involved, I'm sure we'll be glad we did.

My wife and I purchased this item (with the matching dryer, did not purchase the pedestals) this past February. Although we did have problems with an associate at the store location where we made the purchase and had a problem with out item being delivered a few days after the original scheduled date because the item they sent was damaged; our overall thoughts on this product is that the purchase itself was well-worth using part of our tax return to buy it. Our last washer and dryer were a mismatched set that we acquired back in 2005;two military moves and three duty stations later it was time for a new replacement. My wife has been eye-balling this particular set for the last few years (as was I) and we knew that it was as good a time as any to make the purchase. We didn't have to do much research as we were sold on the commercials themselves, but did read many reviews about the products on different online sites just to see what other consumer reviews were out there.

As long as you review the manual, use HE detergent, and don't overfill on the amount of detergent or HE Bleach used; you should have no problems! Also, don't forget to leave the doors open after your cycles are done to prevent mold-growth which is a common concern among many front-load washer users. You would be pleasantly surprised to know that we also purchased the 100-something cup load of Tide Liquid HE Detergent from ********** back in February and well, the bottle is still about a 1/4 full! My wife not only enjoys doing the laundry now, but she is ecstatic that we are not only helping the environment, but also saving money doing so. It is so user-friendly that our 5- and 7- year old boys are already learning how to do laundry (with our guidance of course). We absolutely love this product!

This is the first front-loader I ever bought and I love it.  The capacity is great - I can fit all my towels in one load with room to spare.  I love all the different cycle choices to choose from.  My husband works in construction and comes home in some pretty dirty looking clothes.  I use the santize cycle and never worry about the load afterwards not getting as clean.

We did pay extra for the blue but I love the color and it brightens up our laundry room.  The washer is quiet and even has a pleasant chime when complete.  After 3 months, I'll never swtich to another.
