As part of its long-standing commitment to real life heroes, Sears proudly launches the 10th annual Heroes at Home fundraising campaign, supporting Rebuilding Together. This spring, Rebuilding Together affiliates across America are delivering dozens of critical home renovations for veterans and military families so they can remain comfortably in their homes. In fact, we’ve completed more than 1,600 rebuilds for veteran homeowners nationwide since our Heroes At Home program began.
Between now and July 29, please consider giving back to the men and women who serve our country via a donation to Rebuilding Together when you check out at any Sears store nationwide.
Todd and his wife Cathrine have devoted their lives to serving their country and their community.
“We both come from military families,” said Cathrine Shaw. “Todd’s family goes back a while, but mine has had someone in the armed service going all the way back to the Revolutionary War.”
Todd and Cathrine Shaw are both members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. They are one of only two married couples in the U.S. with both spouses in the order. Todd was caught in an explosion while serving in Iraq in April 2006. Seven of his vertebrae were broken, and three were crushed. Cathrine suffered injuries to her back, knees, wrists and ankles in an explosion in August of the same year while serving in Afghanistan.

Sears’ ninth annual Heroes at Home spring campaign with Rebuilding Together raised more than $750,000 and assisted military families facing hardship by making necessary repairs, improvements or modifications to their homes. The program, which has now raised more than $20 million over the past eight years thanks to generous donations from Shop Your Way members, customers and associates, has funded more than 1,600 home rebuilds.
