Should I Buy a New Mattress?

The next time you're traveling, pay attention to how you feel when sleeping in a hotel bed, or at a friend's house. A feel test is also useful, but since your body is accustomed to the contours of the mattress, do a hand press check instead. For innerspring mattresses, you want to feel for protruding springs and gaps where springs have been pushed away. For foam mattresses, check to see if the foam still readily reforms its shape after you press it down.
