Give your kids the soccer equipment they need to learn the basics of the game

If your children show an interest in soccer, give them all the soccer equipment they need to learn the game essentials. Sears has soccer balls, training goals and a selection of apparel so that they have all the soccer gear they need to hit the field. Once they start to pick up the skills, you can put them on a team with kids their age. Soccer gets kids moving and helps them learn to work together on a team, all while making friends in the process.

Similar to determining what basketball gear you need, the first piece of gear needed to play is the soccer ball. Choosing the correct soccer ball starts with the age of your child. Kids, ages eight and under, should start with a circumference between 23-24-inches. Youth, ages 8-12, will range from 25-26-inches and adults, ages 13 and up, will need a circumference of 27-28-inches. Choose a soccer ball with a cool design or bright color to peak your child's attention. Plus, when your kids are at soccer practice, they'll know which ball is theirs.

Scoring goals isn't just about kicking the hardest. Knowing exactly where to aim can mean the difference between a blocked shot and a game-winning goal. Coaching equipment such as training nets have targets so your child can practice hitting the sweet spots on the net. Sears also has pop-up goals so that you can easily practice anywhere, as well as larger goals you leave up in the back yard. Give your child the soccer gear they need to build skills in the sport they love.

After they've learned the basic skills, sign your child up for a team. Once you know their team colors, pick up matching pinnies, soccer socks and other soccer apparel. Purchasing soccer gear and other items for your kids' sporting interests like baseball gear or basketball gear is important because every piece of equipment has a unique use. Without soccer socks, shin guards can loosen, which could lead to injury on the field. Steps to taking the proper precautions are as easy as purchasing the appropriate gear. Start your child off right with the soccer equipment they need for a successful season.

Soccer helps kids learn the benefits of teamwork, good sportsmanship and is a ton of fun to play. Find everything your kids need, from game-time apparel to training equipment, all in one place at Sears.
