    Outdoor Gazebo Looks Great in my Backyard! August 30, 2011

    It took my grandson and I five hours to put it together, the instructions requires 4 adults. The only problem we had is the side rails are not attached to the the verticle poles very well. I had to go to a hardwaare store and buy L-Brackets and redue the holes so they would fit onto the side rails and verticle poles. Tried to order mounting rails but no response from Sears or the Manufacture so far. It's been over a week. Overall, We like it it's a good addition to our new landscape. We live in a very windy area, so don't use the stakes provided, Go and buy six augers to hold the poles down and don't put the screen up, because with the wind you won't have bugs anyway.

    Good Frame, but the canopy is POOR quality. March 19, 2011

    I was so excited when we purchased this gazebo 2 weeks ago, however after several hours of frustrating and tedious assembly, the excitement faded. The frame and the bar, although awkward to assemble, is very nice once it is finally put together, but the quality of the canopy is very poor. There were several small holes in the canopy material, and the stitching on the mosquito netting is coming apart in a few places. Keep in mind the condition I'm describing is "straight out of the box" condition. We may have just gotten a "lemon" canopy, but when I contacted sears about it via e-mail, their response was simply a link to their return policy. Disassembling, returning, and reassembling another one is out of the question! If you choose to purchase this item, you will need several people and a lot of patients for the assembly. The instructions advise you to disassemble and store indoors for the winter months. So, be prepared to spend some time with this gazebo. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the item for the price.

    **Follow UP** I do want to note that sears did respond to my concerns and sent me a replacement canopy free of charge. The canopy is still not the best of quality, but maybe it'll make the originaly peice usable a little longer. Thank you sears for the customer service, but I still wouldn't recommend this product for the price.**

    What a waste of time and money. Bought it at KMart as the JS Dutch Harbor Gazebo but it is the Clayton at Sears. Different name, but the same junk. I sprayed the metal framing to prevent rusting as this is my 3rd gazebo, but couldn't even reinforce the canopy, it is of such poor quality. chicago is known for the winds but my last one, which I paid less than HALF of the price of this one. made it through 3 seasons.  I took the canopy off in fall and that was it. I left it up during storms, never dry rotted. This one didn't even take a 20 mile and hour wind before it tore. 35 miles an hour and the canopy SHREDDED!  Great looking piece of junk.

    Very good looking gazebo but canopy not very good quality. This is our first summer using it and the canopy will not be able to be used again next year. The frame is good quality and has held up fine. Would not recommend if you are going to leave it out all the time. Certainly too difficult to take canopy off every time a little wind blows up.

    We bought this gazebo in March, but didn't get it set up until Memorial Day weekend because it had been too cold and raniy on the weekends prior. Two days later, on a mildy breezy spring day, the gazebo was blown over (the stakes that were included were absolutely worthless!!!) and tow of the cross bars were busted right off the posts. One cross bar pulled the bolts right out along with it! We suffered a large tear in the top canvass also. Because we had a huge picnic coming up the very next weekend, we duct-taped and roped together all the cross beams and bars. Went to the hardware store and bought the biggest, studiest ground stakes we could fine. They were 14 inches long and 3 inches across. We bought sturdy nylon rope, and anchored that baby down solid. I yanked and pulled on each post and was quite sure that gazebo would go nowhere. Then, a mere week and a half later, we did have a storm with high gusts (typical in Wisconsin) which pulled up all the stakes and crumpled our gazebo into a heap in the yard!! The lovely tempered glass counter tops didn't even break, however the steel bars holding the glass in, were bent all to heck. The top steel frame buckled when it fell and bent 3 of the frame pieces too. Two of the upper cross beams were now ripped completely away from the frame, punturing holes all through the netting due to their sharp edges. The railings are a piece of crap and don't stay connected even on a non-windy day!! The pins that are supposed to help hold the railings to the frame are a joke. They fall out evey time you bump the sides. The railings pop out easily and add absoultely NO stabilty to the structure at all. We loved this gazebo when we first put it up, as we had been wanting to get one for a long, long time. We finally spent the money to get the gazebo and matching patio set which looked beautiful when it was set up. We got to enjoy the beauty of it for two days, before the first fall, and then another week and a half after roping it all down (which detracted from it's beauty somewhat). Now it is one month since we first took it out of the box, and it has to go in the junk pile!! We paid $500 for what we thought would be a lovely addition to our back yard. The funny thing about this is, when we were putting it together we noticed the disclaimer which said something to the effect: "Do not use in inclement weather: rain, wind, sleet, snow..." and I remember my daughter saying, "Where do they expect you to put it - in your living room??" The gazebo weighs 180lbs, so we surely didn't expect that it would blow over at the tip of a hat. We're a very, very unhappy Wisconsin family warning you NOT to purchase an outdoor gazebo if your back yard gets any wind!!!
