    beautiful, roomy and worth the price! August 29, 2009

    We needed a counter depth refrig for our kitchen remodel because we have a very narrow galley kitchen setup.  This refrigerator has been perfect.  It fits the small space perfectly, has plenty of room in the refrigerator for what we used to have in our old traditional refrig (freezer space is a bit smaller but we expected that).  The stainless steel shines nicely but is harder to keep fingerprints off (again, we expected that...) but like that the handles have a different coating which doesn't seem to show the hand prints as much.  Ice maker, water delivery has been great.  No problems so far though we've only had for one month.  Would recommend this refrigerator if you have to go to the more expensive counter depth models.  Very pleased with our choice.

    Not great for the money you spend September 21, 2011

    We bought this fridge while building our new home in the spring. We bought the side by side because of the counter depth.  First of all I'm glad that I have a beverage station as well in the kitchen because we use that as a 2nd fridge when entertaining. This style does not fit a lot of foods when entertaining.  That being said it's not the real reason I wouldn't buy this fridge.  We went through 5 filters (at $40. each) trying to figure out why the water would stop working after a few weeks. We pretty much begged for a different fridge and the appliance guys kept telling us to just try another filter.  Finally the 5th one has lasted now for a few months which is what I expect. BUT now the door ice dispenser is clogging every once and a while, and spits ice everywhere when it's dispensed (that didn't happen earlier) and now sometimes I come home after not using it all day and there's frost in the outside of the doors!  And last night my son took a popsicle out and it was barely frozen. I'm off to call the appliance guy AGAIN!  For the price I just want this thing to work properly.  It's nice looking and matches our other GE Cafe appliances, but next time I will look for another brand. To many things going wrong with this one.

    Our kitchen design required a counterdepth and yet I was unhappy with space that I was seeing in the other models. I did not want to go to a bottom freezer model. The GE Cafe was a compromise purchase. My wife wanted to match the other Electrolux appliances and I was not happy with the layout and space available with the Electrolux. The good news is that she is very happy with this refrigerator. Somehow, it has more internal space in both the fresh food and freezer compartments than our old full size side by side. The design is beautiful and actually looks better in person than in the picture. Ensure that you have enough room for this appliance! The refrigerator is whisper quiet. The icemaker is quiet and efficient. The temperature for both departments are maintained quite well. All drawers and shelves appear to be well constructed. We have had this refrigerator for two months and hopefully it will stay running as quietly and reliably as it has been! As of this moment, we are extremely satisfied with this purchase.
